Historia
On September 27, 2018, Christine Blasey Ford testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee which was considering the nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court. She described an alleged sexual assault by the Supreme Court nominee that took place at a high school party in the 1980s. Her words and courage on that day provided some of the most credible and unforgettable testimony our country has ever witnessed. In One Way Back, Ford recounts the months she spent trying to get information into the right hands without exposing herself and her family to backlash.

Insightful account
Revisado: 05-27-24
Beautifully told, many insights and lessons, many things that need changing in protecting victims stepping forward! (Ever heard of a smear campaign on victims of theft or robbery? Me neither. Targeting a victim going forward should be illegal / cause for another law suit in itself)

Historia
As a park ranger with the National Park Service's law enforcement team, Andrea Lankford led search and rescue missions in some of the most beautiful (and dangerous) landscapes across America, from Yosemite to the Grand Canyon. But though she had the support of the agency, Andrea grew frustrated with the service's bureaucratic idiosyncrasies, and left the force after twelve years. Two decades later, however, she stumbles across a mystery that pulls her right back where she left off: three young men have vanished from the Pacific Crest Trail.

This book needs an editor
Revisado: 05-09-24
The concept of the story is intriguing, strong women searching for their lost loved ones. However, is seems as if the author collected all her scribbles, dud a google search on every subject and then just jotted down everything which became the book. So many passages are neither her or there. It makes the reader or listener irritated or resentful, sometimes listening to another dreadful and chaotic meandering because it seems to lead somewhere, but it never does. The chaos of the story does not reflect well on its main characters, which loose credibility by it. I hate to rate a story with strong women as main characters badly, but the quality of this writing really does not suffice - I had to stop/skip large parts at some point. It left me annoyed and unsatisfied - especially the ending - and would NOT recommend.

Betrayal is the worst kind of abuse experienced in relationships but we can heal by learning to trust ourselves.
