Historia
Stirringly evocative, thought provoking, and often jaw dropping, The Operator ranges across SEAL Team Operator Robert O'Neill's awe-inspiring 400-mission career that included his involvement in attempts to rescue "Lone Survivor" Marcus Luttrell and abducted-by-Somali-pirates Captain Richard Phillips and culminated in those famous three shots that dispatched the world's most wanted terrorist, Osama bin Laden.

O’Neill shares his experiences extremely authentically. His informality and anecdotal style engage listeners. The author doesn’t embellish - he “tells it like it is.” I found myself wanting to heat more.
You should listen to this account, if you study post-9/11 experiences.

Historia
We March at Midnight is award-winning author Ray McPadden’s chronicle of his experience as a highly decorated Ranger officer leading some of the most dangerous missions during the height of the Iraq and Afghan wars. In 2005, Ray joined the army in search of what he calls “the moment” - a chance to prove to himself and his brothers in arms that he is a true leader. His job is to establish the first outpost in the Korengal, Afghanistan’s deadliest valley, and his decisions and mistakes will have a permanent impact on the men he commands.

I’ve read numerous combat narratives. This one excels in candor and honesty. The author conveys his experiences fully and emotionally. He recounts events and characters vividly. The narrator adds emphasis. It’s literally riveting.

Historia
Opening Day: 50-for-50 is a baseball tribute like no other—a well-researched work of love representing a half-century of great stories and historical context linked to each of those 50 days. This emotional journey connects three cities, six stadiums, five home teams, and four generations while overcoming life events, baseball’s labor unrest, and the 33-year absence of a hometown team. Along the way, Ortman encountered five U.S. Presidents and more than 50 future Hall of Fame players, coaches, and broadcasters: from Reagan to Obama, Weaver to Torre, and hundreds more.

Entertaining, Especially for Baseball Fanatics
Revisado: 06-09-22
The author shares many accounts and facts about modern day baseball since the 70s. His story relates mostly to Baltimore’s and Washington, DC’s experiences. The short chapters and narrative style lend themselves well to listening. I recommend the title to committed baseball fans.

Historia
In Bush, Jean Edward Smith demonstrates that it was not Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, or Condoleezza Rice, but President Bush himself who took personal control of foreign policy. Bush drew on his deep religious conviction that important foreign-policy decisions were simply a matter of good versus evil. Domestically, he overreacted to 9/11 and endangered Americans' civil liberties.

A Thorough bit Biased View
Revisado: 06-20-18
The author documents events thoroughly. The organization excels. A driving premise precedes the narrative, though: GWB is incompetent. History will judge that.
