Historia
After many years working around the world for an international charity in the late 1960s, Eleanor Trewynn has retired to the relative quiet of a small town in Cornwall. But her quiet life is short-lived when, due to her experience, the Commonwealth Relations Office reaches out to her to assist in a secret conference that is to take place in a small hotel outside the historical village of Tintagel. Meanwhile, her niece, Detective Sergeant Megan Pencarrow, is investigating the disappearance of a local solicitor when she is assigned to help provide security.

As a South African
Revisado: 12-22-22
As a South African, I find Ms Dunn’s lack of understanding of the Southern Africa situation rather nauseating. Firstly, who colonised Zimbabwe and South Africa in the first place? The English. Then years later, they decide that was a mistake, so they sanction Zimbabwe to force a situation that is untenable. A broken Zimbabwe, with their children catching and cooking rats to survive. The result? Thousands of Zimbabweans pouring into South Africa every single day to try to find a better life. And South Africa is not much better, because our economy is not much better. Half of our own people are unemployed (a staggering 49%). But hey, a great idea to oust the very few tax payers left, what a wonderful solution. We’ll done, UK!! You are so self righteous and completely ignorant. As portrayed by Carole Dunn in this silly little “novel”

Don't imagine for one moment that I'm not watching you.... The Metropole Hotel, Brighton. After a heady New Year's Eve ball, a woman is brutally raped as she returns to her room. A week later, another woman is attacked. Both victims' shoes are taken by the offender.... Detective Superintendent Roy Grace soon realises that these new cases bear remarkable similarities to an unsolved series of crimes in the city back in 1997.

Very enjoyable but for one thing
Revisado: 08-31-22
Great story and am thoroughly enjoying the Rob Grace series. But David (narrator), please please try not to murder the South African accent. As an English speaking South African, I cringe every time I hear it. It is so way off the mark it is literally painful to hear! Other than that, wonderfully gripping series

Historia
Despite their investigative prowess, Scotland Yard's Chief Inspector Michael Sinclair, Lord Acton, and rookie detective Kathleen Doyle stir more than a few feathers at CID Headquarters when their relationship comes to light. But office politics quickly become trivial when a rash of underworld murders shatters London's normally austere façade. With a growing list of successfully solved cases to her name, the ever-dauntless Doyle shakes off the gossip and sets out to investigate the escalating turf war.

Penny horrible
Revisado: 03-24-22
Sorry, just could not finish this. As a lover of detective stories/police procedural, this fell absolutely flat. No thrill, no excitement. Please don’t call it a detective story. It’s nothing more than a badly written soppy love story that isn’t believable. Urrgh!

Change the narrator please!

The story was excellent. Beautifully paced, heartwarming and exciting. Unfortunately the narrator killed it. Dreadful intonation.
