Historia
Ousted from the Hollows Group, the shadow world has officially taken notice of me. With loan sharks sniffing around and knocking on my door, I need to figure out how my ex-husband pushed all his debt onto me, because it stinks of black magic and back-alley dealings. Until I can get some answers there, I distract myself with a new job - working for a goblin. The job is as simple as hiding some paperwork for him. Only...someone else wants what he gave me. And they are playing dangerously dirty to get what they want.

She’d always been my destiny. The woman whose life was tied to mine. I just hadn’t planned on falling in love and being forced to choose between my vows and my soul. No matter how deep my connection to her ran, I had a greater purpose I was meant to serve. And now that she was carrying the Harbinger of the Apocalypse–the result of our passion–I had to get her away from the rest of them.

Historia
When a god wants you dead, it’s safe to assume life can’t get any worse. Wrong. I’m enemy number-one to a powerful fae and I’ve ticked off the Master of the vampires one too many times. Life - or rather, death - is coming at me fast. I definitely didn’t expect a demon placing a bounty on me to be added to the what-the-hell-else-could-go-wrong Bingo card. Adding to my problems, the two men in my life are pushing me to make a choice that could not only cost me a friendship, but a valued ally.

And now we wait...
Revisado: 05-05-21
This is the thing I dislike about cliffhangers, I've finished everything that's available in the series, was left in the middle of a scene...well not really the middle but still...and now I have to wait for the next book to come out. I personally prefer for the characters to have a bit of a breather between saving the world or this major battle and the next one. You don't get that break with this series. There isn't really a "happy for now" ending, it's just the first step in the next battle. That being said, I'm enjoying the series and will continue with it as it's released.

Historia
My magic can kill. Now, it might be the reason I die. For years, I thought I was Raven Cursed - only to discover I’m something much worse. But nothing about my life is as shocking as what I discover about Mephisto, the mysterious and alluring client who’s always had a special interest in me. Now I know why. My curse and Mephisto’s secrets have to take a back seat when the most powerful vampire in the city hires me for a job. It seems simple enough: Negotiate the acquisition of a weapon that can kill his kind faster than a stake to the heart.

Revisado: 05-05-21
This series gets better with each book. I love to see character growth in a series, and our characters are definitely growing and showing more of themselves in each book. I like this series and finished the 4th book last night and am eagerly waiting for the next one. Keep going, it's a good series.

Historia
A spell revealed I was marked by the raven. Now what? Well, I already know day drinking isn’t the answer. And Mephisto, with his increasing interest in me and my magic, isn’t either. But what is? The secrets behind the mark keep unfolding, revealing that I’m more dangerous than anyone ever suspected and that I’m the only person preventing the demise of several powerful and dangerous magical beings. Some people want me as an ally and others simply want me dead - and I have no idea who’s on my side.

Better...Keep Going
Revisado: 05-05-21
This series gets better with each book. It's a slow burn romance with lots of action and intrigue. I wasn't sure I was going to like the characters, the heroine was obnoxious and demanding when she had no right to be. She was childish and did the same thing over and over. That being said, I love to see growth in a character. I like this series and finished the 4th book last night and am eagerly waiting for the next one. Keep going, it's a good series.

I wouldn’t say my life is a dumpster fire — but it’s far from typical. I’m frenemies with the local werewolves’ Alpha, my clients are shady as hell, and my magic falls firmly in the WTF category. Mephisto, my mysterious and powerful client, is more interested in my magic than the jobs he’s hired me for. And I’m pretty sure my court-ordered therapist thinks I’m an ass.

Keep Going It's a good series
Revisado: 05-05-21
I'll start by saying I wanted to LOVE this book, I didn't. It's my personal preference and not any lack on the authors part. I simply didn't think I was going to like any of the characters. But keep going if this is also what you're thinking. It gets SO much better as you go. I finished the 4th book last night and am eagerly waiting for the next installment. It really is a good series. I'll be looking for others by this author.

Historia
Over the hill, all outta ducks to give, and suddenly life is looking up...even if you're living with a ghost and fighting off werewolves. Moving back to Savannah changed my life in all the best ways. Color me surprised, when a new job lands in my lap watching over a fairy ring. Worth ten times what I’d make anywhere else, it seems too good to be true. I take it anyway. And that’s when things get weird. Nothing in Savannah is what it seems, and the magic and undercurrents of this city are pulling me onto a dangerous path.

Love this!
Revisado: 09-04-20
Love this author and Love this book. The performance is spot on and fabulous as always with Lauren Fortgang. The story moves at a good pace, the characters are fully developed, the dialog is intelligent and engaging, This one takes place about a week after the first book, and you see growth in the characters already. This is a page turner, I was up listening to the wee hours of the morning playing the "one more chapter" game.

great first book of a series
Revisado: 09-02-20
I'm not a reviewer that rehashes the plot, if you're reading the reviews you know what the book is about. I'll tell you what I do (or don't) like about the story. This one is a great first book of what promises to be a great series. It's well developed and moves at a nice pace. It answers most questions but leaves enough intrigue for the next book. I would liked to have had a little more backstory on both of them and their relationship, it's possible that is in some of the K-19 books and I haven't read those yet. Heather Slade is fast becoming a 1-click author for me. This is one to add to your library. The narrator is smooth and entertaining. He does a great job!

The story itself is well written and moves at a good pace, no lagging or rushing. The characters are fully fleshed out, the dialog is intelligent and engaging, there's sexy times, and intrigue to boot. The performance by the narrators was fantastic. I don't know that she could have picked better voices for her characters. This was a great addition to the series. Heather Slade is fast becoming a favorite!
