I listened to this book on a whim, and I am so glad I did. This is one of the most intelligent and hilarious book I've read in years. She doesn't back away from gritty and embarrassing details, and has really perfected the slow burn, juxtaposing intimate thoughts to very unorthodox series of events. She's a master storyteller, with the best self-depteciating humour. I never saw 24 but now I am going to seek out her comedy because she's not just a Girls Girl, she's smart as hell and that is so rare these days.

I came across this actress/dancer on an Instagram clip where she was trying to teach Ellen DeGeneres a dance routine from a Missy Elliott video. She looks to be about 8 years old but not only has grace and skill as a dancer but is really a top-notch communicator and performer-- spacing out her direction amongst studio audience laughs and interjected jokes by Ellen. At one point she smiles wearily at the camera and cracks a joke of her own about Ellen's skills, waiting perfectly for the laugh before she begins moving again. My daughter is the exact same age as her in the clip it turns out, and people were asking--where is she now? I'm almost 40 years old so I knew I didn't even have to guess--where's her podcast? Her story in particular, because of her age, because I want to know what happens to a little girl when all of her dreams come true. What becomes of her, both financially and mentally? I'm not sure her research or background on the subject of social development of teens other than her own personal experience, but just this episode has been extremely informative. she presents clear and concise information without a lot of flare and emotion, which I appreciate for a subject this delicate.

I have a hard time shaking the feeling that Walter White is just a race shifter that used his position of privilege to Crosslines because he had a few Black ancestors hundreds of years prior.

there's a lot of good information in this book a lot of things I didn't know about previously but the voice that it is written in is unmistakably weird.... it mentions over and over and over again that Walter was the black man when in fact he is not he's playing his skin is white black man he is a blonde hair white skin white man who went to college for a semester and decided because he had a great great great great grandmother who was black that he too was black. he used his position as a white man to get all kinds of Grants and awards because of his work with the NAACP, but I never would have read the book knowing that. Or that it was written by another white man 🙄🙄🙄🙄

This was written from a white cowboy perspective. Obsessed with lurid details of "Indian" atrocities and light on facts, this is a HARD pass.

Parker is your friend that moved to New York. You wondered whatever happened to her--she was the coolest person you knew, wise beyond her years, she knew all the old movies and her style was before it's time. Well it's been 20 years, you're both getting on, and she's just letting you know how it all went.

Delightful, hypnotic, by the end of the book you'll have so many inside jokes you'll swear you knew her all your life.

This book should have been a collection of essays online somewhere. if you're looking for the toothsome the hard-hitting science that Michael People used to be known for, give this one a pass. if you've ever used hallucinogens even recreationally you'll probably find this book extremely boring. This book is a very general introduction to your brain and hallucinogens, without really any new information.
