The best narrator ever!!!
Revisado: 08-31-23
Sissi Spacek's narration of 'To Kill a Mockingbird' is simply superb. She brings the characters to life with her warm and expressive voice, and she perfectly captures the humor and poignancy of the story. I laughed and I cried along with Scout, Jem, and Atticus, and I was left feeling inspired by their courage and compassion. This audiobook is a must-listen for anyone who loves classic literature."
Here are some specific examples of how Spacek's narration enhances the audiobook:
She uses a variety of vocal techniques to bring the characters to life, such as changing her pitch, tone, and volume.
She perfectly captures the humor and poignancy of the story, making it both laugh-out-loud funny and tear-jerkingly sad.
She creates a sense of suspense and drama, making the listener feel like they are right there in the story.
She brings the setting to life, making the listener feel like they are in the small town of Maycomb, Alabama.
Overall, Sissi Spacek's narration of "To Kill a Mockingbird" is a tour de force. She brings the story to life in a way that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. If you are a fan of classic literature, this audiobook is a must-listen.

Historia
Why have we lost our ability to focus? What are the causes? And, most importantly, how do we get it back? For Stolen Focus, internationally best-selling author Johann Hari went on a three-year journey to uncover the reasons why our teenagers now focus on one task for only 65 seconds, and why office workers on average manage only three minutes. He interviewed the leading experts in the world on attention and learned that everything we think about this subject is wrong.

An excellent perspective on how we lost focus
Revisado: 02-02-23
Excellent book on explaining why we are having so much difficulty in maintaining focus. Johann carefully presents different scientific research on the why (which is the result of different "forces"), with a genuine preoccupation in presenting conflicting views when those are present. Nevertheless, and that's the reason why is a 4 star review (and not a 5 star), is that at the end the "revolutionary" prescription is, in my humble opinion, a little biased, and very much anchored on the idea that we all had very healthy lives 100/50/30 years ago and know we are at the brink of collapse because of technology and capitalism. Other than this bias and excessive simplicity, this is an excellent book with a very, very important message

The oral complement to Trump’s trilogy
Revisado: 12-21-22
I’ve read the three books of Bob Woodward about Trump (Fear, Rage and Peril), which were a riveting reading about a chaotic presidency. While I read those books I became more fascinated with Trump, because of its uniqueness. Normal persons have a few qualities and lesser flaws, Trump has a lot of qualities but even more flaws, which makes him a unique character. These interviews give you an additional layer of insight into Trumps personality and thought process. After listening to this audiobook I can assure you that we can change the denomination of narcissist to Trump…. Because he is the living proof what narcissism is.

Historia
In The War on the West, Douglas Murray shows how many well-meaning people have been fooled by hypocritical and inconsistent anti-West rhetoric. After all, if we must discard the ideas of Kant, Hume, and Mill for their opinions on race, shouldn’t we discard Marx, whose work is peppered with racial slurs and anti-Semitism? Embers of racism remain to be stamped out in America, but what about the raging racist inferno in the Middle East and Asia?

Another excellent book by Douglas Murray
Revisado: 06-15-22
In a very systematic and thorough way the author deconstructs these not-so-new identity politics, which are a rerun from previous Marxist theories, but this time focusing on tarnishing western culture and civilization. I considered myself well informed, but Douglas was able to find and share statements on several subjects which where hilarious and very hard to believe to be true. An excellent audiobook

Imagine a chimpanzee rampaging through a data center powering everything from Google to Facebook. Infrastructure engineers use a software version of this "chaos monkey" to test online services' robustness - their ability to survive random failure and correct mistakes before they actually occur. Tech entrepreneurs are society's chaos monkeys, disruptors testing and transforming every aspect of our lives from transportation (Uber) and lodging (AirBnB) to television (Netflix) and dating (Tinder).

When Silicon Valley meets Wall Streey
Revisado: 03-09-17
This is a "Michael Lewis" type book, that focus mainly on Silicon Valley, but with a very interesting bridge with Wall Street, where the writer spent some years working at Goldman Sachs. It is a very entertaining book, giving a no bullshit version of how the Silicon Valley ecosystem works, with its idiosyncrasies and flaws. Recommended

Historia
In The Righteous Mind, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt explores the origins of our divisions and points the way forward to mutual understanding. His starting point is moral intuition - the nearly instantaneous perceptions we all have about other people and the things they do. These intuitions feel like self-evident truths, making us righteously certain that those who see things differently are wrong. Haidt shows us how these intuitions differ across cultures, including the cultures of the political left and right.

A must read for anyone interested in morality
Revisado: 11-10-16
I always love books that give something to think and digest, something sufficiently relevant for you to change, even if slightly, your view of the world, and in this case the view of man and obviously myself. A book written by a liberal that took an academic trip into morality and was able to bring a very interesting perspective on why people value different moral foundations. Highly recommend
