Historia
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

Based on the description of the story, I could've never guessed this story was going to be told. It's a wonderful story, almost biographical, told from a witnesses view. If I started strictly in the genre (s) I prefer, I never would've found this gem. Once settled into the book, I didn't want to put it down, or walkthrough away. Really enjoyed the narrators, played their parts beautifully. Will absolutely recommend and likely read again.

Wow, best surprise ending I've ever read!
Revisado: 05-12-22
This one started out pretty quick. We were introduced to the main characters as they met each other within the first few minutes of reading. From there, it became a twisty, turny, topsy, turvy ride. While I wasn't at the edge of my seat for the entire novel, I was there for at least 70/80% of it. The narrators were fabulous, very likeable voices for the main characters and the protagonist had a perfect voice for the job. I will definitly recommend this one, I honestly have been this 'in' to a novel since "Gone Girl", and this is right there as a close second if not in a face to face tie. Absolutely LOVED it and everything about it. If I could go over 5 stars, this would without a doubt be double that! Wowzers!! Just ... Wowzers!

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge.

WOW! Couldn't have been better!
Revisado: 05-11-22
Wow, this novel had it all. From romance and drama, mystery and suspense, a spot of politics and religion, horror, happiness, terror and traitors. Flynn was at a peak that I've never experienced before, the writing style was flawless, the story flowed naturally, even when there was no natural segue. The twists and turns were setup perfectly and just when you think you have it figured out, BANG, you're wrong and never saw THAT coming. Literally one of, if not the, best book I've ever read (listened to). Also should add that the narration was spot on as well. The voice actors were supreme, their emotion, their clarity, their deceit, all played out perfectly. If I could give more than 5 stars, this would be where is give every extra I was allowed. The adrenaline and dopamine spikes that were triggered are now and forever something unmatched by any other author. Just .... Wow!

Not much to say, it gets into the story really quick and doesn't stop until it's over. Exciting twist at the end, just because, and it makes for the cherry on top! Great narration, will definite pass the title around.

Revisado: 05-06-22
What can be said besides it's a great short listen. Very engaging, a fun listen and a twist at the end, that really shouldn't have, but absolutely blindsided me. That's a pretty great job by the writer, when they can nail you with a twist you never even thought about. Great narration, really loved the voice acting as well. Would/Will definitly recommend.

#1 New York Times bestselling master of suspense Harlan Coben delivers his most shocking thriller yet, proving that a well-placed lie can help build a wonderful life—and a secret has the same explosive power to destroy it. The Stranger appears out of nowhere, perhaps in a bar, or a parking lot, or at the grocery store. His identity is unknown. His motives are unclear. His information is undeniable. Then he whispers a few words in your ear and disappears, leaving you picking up the pieces of your shattered world.

Decidedly better than any review made it out to be, once I started I couldn't put it down. I listened straight through, start to finish. The twists and turns were just enough to keep it believable yet keep you on the edge of your seat. Can't wait to keep going, will definitly be recommending this to the group! Will also add, that the narrators were spot on. The voice acting again, never over the top, never under spoken, they did their part as close to perfect as you could ever expect.

Original storyline, somewhat predictable.
Revisado: 05-04-22
I really enjoyed the novel, though it was predictable at times. The author did drop subtle hints throughout in an attempt to mislead the reader, and there was definitly a 50/50 about the main 'villain' in the end. I really liked the back and forth between past and present in a controlled way, chapter to chapter, versus just randomly flipping between them. Lastly, while I really enjoy different accents of the world, I, living in the Southern US, found the narrators accent almost mesmerizing. At times I would get hung up on words and get lost in the narration, versus listening like I should. Might be a personal issue, but not sure that I've run into that before. Absolutely nothing personal against Georgia Maguire, she was terrific! In the end, good read, good narration, would recommend.

Great story, lots of fun!
Revisado: 05-03-22
It's a great story line, and it's funny as it's meant to be! Shame to see the conservatives labeling LGBTQ+ issues as political, that couldn't be farther from the truth, and quite honestly it's barely mentioned in the story. You hear about it in maybe three lines in the entire story, and only regarding labels, nothing more. This world is moving on without you all! Live, love, laugh and don't be a trans(or any other)phobe. I promise this cute story won't "turn" anyone transgender, not the way it works. Thanks to the author and the cast, for living your lives, having fun and not being afraid to be yourselves, especially in a world full of the fearful, sheeple, snowflake republicants, afraid of living in a world where everyone is free to be themselves.
Would recommend to all age groups, just be mindful that there is some strong language.

Paint your toes. Pick up the wrong coffee and bagel order. Drive from Brooklyn to Jersey in traffic so slow you want to tear your hair out. It’s amazing all the useless things I can accomplish while on hold for three hours with customer service. Three hours when I should be getting the Date-in-a-Box website ready to launch at the big business expo in a few days. Except my shiny new website is glitching, and my inner rage-monster is ready to scorch some earth...when he finally picks up. Not the robot voice I expected but a real live human named Kal.

First and foremost the writing was awesome! Grabbed my attention from the get go and never let it go. The voice actors were better than great, perfect for their respective roles and in the end I was left longing for more, more, more! Could've really easily turned this into a novel, though it works perfectly just like it is. Off to listen to more now, because if the other titles are remotely close to this one, I may have found myself a new collection for my collection!
