Historia
Romance can be a little complicated when you get sucked into a wormhole. Just ask high school English teacher June Flint. One little solar flare happens and suddenly you find yourself 85 years in the future. Eighty-five years from your dream job. Your ailing mother whose only companion in this world is you. Your favorite stuffed-crust pizza from DeLucia’s on Sunday nights. But when June’s cell phone inexplicably picks up a signal, she’s able to call back to the present—more specifically, four weeks before she accidentally time traveled.

so different!
Revisado: 05-10-24
I did not know what to expect and was pretty skeptical at the beginning, but by the end, I was hooked. Really clever story. A lot of unexplained details, but that doesn't detract from the joy of the storytelling. some really fun characters and an engaging story. the signature Bastone "life lesson" monologues are included, these are not as heavy - handed as they sometimes can be. I really enjoyed this ride. I truly hope the author will keep telling THESE stories. Oh! and the voice actors were a hoot. Especially Dr. E!

Hannah Brooks looks more like a kindergarten teacher than somebody who could kill you with a wine bottle opener. Or a ballpoint pen. Or a dinner napkin. But the truth is, she’s an Executive Protection Agent (aka "bodyguard"), and she just got hired to protect superstar actor Jack Stapleton from his middle-aged, corgi-breeding stalker.

Cute, clever story. 98% believable. Adorable reader. One note, if anyone in production reads these: Bougainvillea is pronounced BOE-gun-VEE-uh in the southwest. This audiobook is a repeat listen for me.

Historia
Taken from her home as a young child, Elizabeth Bennet’s sense of self is shaken when the mystery behind her true identity is unraveled. Discovering her place as the daughter of a duke, she confronts reclaimed memories of her brutal abduction, while making her way in the alien world of Regency England’s high society. Facing the ton is the least of her concerns, as her kidnappers remain determined to keep her from Fitzwilliam Darcy - the man who first professed his love by proposing she become his mistress.

It's. Just. So. Long! (and DARK)
Revisado: 12-24-21
While Stevie Zimmerman's performance was solid as always (though the Spanish accent trended to mirror the Russian), the text she was reading just went on and on and on. Too may characters going too many directions. The author introduced scads of characters that showed up for one party or one event and never returned. Names, descriptions, histories, the works. And what was with the princess? Seemingly unnecessary plot lines. It became too convoluted to keep track of. And why would you include a 2nd character named MARY? Why was that 2nd Mary even included in the story??
Dark, dismal, too many references to some thought or emotion twinkling, shining, burning, in someone's eyes. If the book had been 1/3 or more shorter, I wouldn't have noticed. But after wading through rabbit trail after rabbit trail, I started to notice the redundancies.
Also, Anne? Yuck. Why? Blecky!
Also, what the heck happens to Fitzwilliam? Epilogue should have just been the final chapter. Then epilogue 5 years later or something.
Furthermore, Darcy just keeps being drawn to his own physical desire and not to Elizabeth's nature. He comes across as a hormonal teenager. Shallow!
Parts of this story i did like, but i don't recommend it unless you really just have time to kill.

These are not really short stories. they are closer to 'novellettes', i suppose. Written by a collection of authors, this tells the ODC love story in variations which take place amid Christmas festivities. There's even a lovely story with Mary Bennet as the central character. All were well written abs (of course) well narrated. A great purchase for my commute and a little escape within my busy existence. It was a very serendipitous use of my kindle credit! Warm, fuzzy, witty -- perfect!

Historia
Elizabeth Bennet thought she was prepared to do anything to make the Dragon Conclave accept her beloved young dragon, Pemberley, into the Blue Order, but she had not anticipated it would leave her banished from her ancestral home and betrothed to none other than Mr. Darcy. But before Elizabeth and Darcy wed, they must find a dangerous rogue dragon before it provokes a war amongst the dragons and brings the fragile peace between dragons and mankind to a catastrophic end.

worth the triple expense
Revisado: 02-20-21
While it's 'dirty pool' to have divided this story into 3 parts making us buy each separately, then making the engaging story IMPOSSIBLE to let go of until the whole was told, I found the tale and its telling absolutely delightful. If you enjoy these Austen characters and are willing to allow them completely new adventures, this is the book for you. It is NOT a romance, per se, though ODC are at the center of it (it's a squeaky clean story, btw, for those with more sensitive hearts). Also, it is a low-wickham-content story, which i particularly appreciate. The narration is done creatively. It took just a smidge to get used to, but then, loved it! Highly creative & recommended series overall.

Historia
One of the turning points in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is Miss Elizabeth Bennet's passionate refusal and denunciation of the equally passionate but infinitely more repressed Fitzwilliam Darcy. However, unforeseen events can lead to the most unexpected consequences. During a visit with her friend, Charlotte Collins, at Hunsford, Elizabeth falls prey to illness for almost the first time in her life just as Mr. Darcy comes to call. Befuddled by her illness, she misinterprets his proposal of marriage, and a simple nod of acknowledgment is mistaken for acceptance.

Rating as of Chapter 16
Revisado: 01-22-21
This book is painfully slow-moving. Narration is rather flat. Not sure I can finish. Really good use of language, and I like most of the story variations, but it feels like a truckload of useless details that don't move the action forward. Apparently the point of the book is to hear everyone's inner voice but, I'm beginning not to care. I find myself waiting for this to be over, and there are 5 more HOURS left to listen to?? I'll revise this review if I ever get to the end. Not sure I can devote that kind of time for such a questionable return.

Historia
How could one simple decision change the course of a man's life? In this fast-paced novella set in Regency England, Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy of Pemberley in Derbyshire and Darcy House in London finds himself unwillingly, or possibly willingly, attached to Miss Elizabeth Bennet. With visions of their life ahead, he presses forward until everyone in her family and his are finally convinced they are a match made in heaven. Or, are they?

Revisado: 12-23-20
The twist at the end was a giggle-worthy turn, but then it went back to being implausible. Cute, but implausible. Zimmerman, however, is as delightful a narrator as ever, regardless of the story being read. I would listen to her read a grocery list, if she used the voices she has so wonderfully developed for these characters.
