Historia
When a series of devastating terror attacks brought down the United States, Conor and Barb assumed they were safe in their compound. They had everything they needed. They were armed and highly trained. But then, Barb was kidnapped. The kidnappers didn’t know why Conor was known as The Mad Mick. They didn’t know the fear and respect his name invoked in the shadowy underworld of covert operations. They didn’t know that when it came to protecting his family, he was without conscience, without compassion, and without equal. But they would soon find out.

Love this series!
Revisado: 02-15-24
Starting with Locker 9, I have thoroughly enjoyed everyone of these stories. After being introduced to The Mad Mick in the Locker 9 series, I was delighted to have the opportunity to get this three book series. These three stories were very well written and narrated. Although I am not a prepper, I am aware of being prepared for things when they do go wrong. This was a work of fiction, but throughout the entire two series', credible and sound information was used that can be learned and used to be better prepared. The Author certainly did his homework. There was a bit of a love story, humor, determination, and sheer grit throughout. The narrator was able to convey each character's roll and the transition and interaction between the characters was seamless. Thanks for the great read.

Great trip through history!
Revisado: 02-23-23
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was unable to watch the PBS broadcast and now I feel so much better knowing that I was able to listen here on Audible. I felt that they did a great job keeping the continuity of not only the time, but of the artists and other very important people in the process of making country music. I liked hearing the quotes from not only country music people, but from other aspects of music as well.
Growing up in the late '60s and '70s, the middle of this book meant the most to me. but I also learned a lot about early on. For example, Web Pierce was always one of my favorite singers, and I had no idea that Elvis and Johnny Cash toured together with him in the early years.
Even if country music isn't your thing, this is a very very good recount of how music affects all of us and how we affect music. Thanks for releasing this audiobook.

You walk into a restaurant and get an immediate sense that you should leave. You are about to step onto an elevator with a stranger, and something stops you. You interview a potential new employee who has the résumé to do the job, but something tells you not to offer the position. These scenarios all represent "left of bang", the moments before something bad happens.

I was looking forward to reading this book. some of the reviews were not very flattering but I still wanted to learn what was being talked about. very good information, my only criticism is that it didn't spend much time going through exercises that could help you better understand and practice the concepts of the book.

a classic but not what I expected.
Revisado: 05-16-22
A very interesting story. All the philosophizing was a bit much at times, but did tie the story together well.
I do have to comment on the narrator. IMHO, the narration made the entire story work. I'm glad that I finished yet another classic.

what a treat!
Revisado: 03-11-22
Others have said this but it was sad when the book came to an end. it's incredible to know his entire life story told by him.
Like many I am a huge Mel Brooks fan because of the outstanding movies. but all of the stories from childhood to right now were told in such a fabulous manner, like only Mel Brooks could do.
The connections he made throughout his life are simply amazing. I loved hearing about his time with Sid Caesar, Alfred Hitchcock and other very talented folks. I especially loved how he would take an idea and turn it into such great movies, how he selected cast members and overcame adversity in some instances. I am extremely happy that I read this book and would suggest it to anyone who is even a tiny bit of a Mel Brooks fan.

Mel Brooks' own words telling all about the players, the filming, and studio antics during the production of this great comedy classic. The audiobook is alive and teeming with hundreds of photos, original interviews, and hilarious commentary. Young Frankenstein was made with deep respect for the craft and history of cinema-and for the power of a good schwanzstucker joke. This audiobook will also rely on interviews with gifted director of photography Gerald Hirschfeld, Academy Award-winning actress Cloris Leachman, and veteran producer Michael Gruskoff.

Good story, horrible sound quality
Revisado: 10-20-21
I have read a lot of Jeff's work and really have enjoyed it. this was an okay story not nearly the story that bad games is but I realize this came before them. My only complaint would be the sound of the the recording. very hard to hear on most of my devices. especially with the different characters voices. initially I was not enthused about the multiple voices and laughter in the background, I guess I just got used to it toward the end.

Liked the story and narration, Not Mr. King's TDS.
Revisado: 08-25-21
Not your typical Stephen King story. Similar to others in the fact that the main character was also writing a story (and a very interesting one at that). You couldn't help but be drawn in by the main characters. It is a unique thought process to "cheer" for character that does horrible things to even more horrible people. I did catch my mind wondering away from the story early on, just wasn't that interesting to me. Maybe it is the fact that Mr. King suffers from Trump Derangement Syndrome and must think all of his readers agree with his political views and hatred for one man. Big turn off. Plenty of slams against President Trump as if it mattered to the storyline. The slams did nothing to enhance the story. Never-the-less, I continue to look forward to his reading his stories. The bottom line is, I liked the story alot. I would be remiss if I didn't mention how incredible the narrator, Paul Sparks was able to make this story come alive with his talent.

Compared to the previous two books, this story was a letdown. I was never fully invested in what was going on with the characters. However, I loved listening to Armitage's narration again.

Katherine Nichols knew she’d had too many drinks, but they were only going a short distance. “There’s no traffic anyway,” Eve had pointed out. And they'd had such a great night out, the two of them. Even now, driving them home and knowing she shouldn’t, seemed almost mischievous. All part of the fun. Not anymore.

Glad I finished it.
Revisado: 04-09-20
Very good beginning, I was drawn in. Almost gave up one third of the way through, the redundant theme got old, but decided to finish and was happy I did. A couple of plot twists helped.
Not by any means is it a masterpiece, but it was a fun and interesting ride.
