Historia
Working women today are better educated and more well-qualified than ever before. Yet men still predominate in the corporate world. In The Confidence Code, Claire Shipman and Katty Kay argue that the key reason is confidence.
Combining cutting-edge research in genetics, gender, behavior, and cognition - with examples from their own lives and those of other successful women in politics, media, and business - Kay and Shipman go beyond admonishing women to "lean in".

5 star message in a 3 star book
Revisado: 01-30-23
I really wanted to love this… I really did. I finished the book by sheet discipline and will, as I think the book should have been named The Confidence Gap, rather than The Confidence Code. It was more statistics and research, than a code of any sort. Glad I read it, but it certainly does not make the top 10 list

Historia
A rally cry for working mothers everywhere that demolishes the "distracted, emotional, weak" stereotype and definitively shows that these professionals are more focused, decisive, and stronger than any other force. There is copious academic research showing the benefits of working mothers on families and the benefits to companies who give women longer and more flexible parental leave. There are even findings that demonstrate women with multiple children actually perform better at work than those with none or one.

Should be required reading
Revisado: 04-06-22
Every student, parent, employee, leader, friend, and sibling should read this book. Simple and timeless concepts that are so easy to overlook and ignore in pursuit of what WE want - when in reality, we’d get what we want when we give other people what THEY want. And what do people want?? To feel important, seen, appreciated. Highly recommend this book and the concepts within for ALL readers.

Beyond my expectations
Revisado: 03-08-18
I expected this book to be about increasing your positivity and being an optimist in every day life... I was looking for a book to help me regain my confidence to be a light to those around me. I expected encouraging words. I expected refreshing thoughts. I did not expect a breakthrough of the spiritual boundary that I’ve been teetering on for the past 2 to 3 years. I have been a skeptic of religion since I was as young as 5 years old. The idea of a man sitting in the clouds judging our every move and feeling shame for being a human has never sat well with me. I considered myself to be atheist for a while, but always felt like there was a connectedness amongst the universe. I felt divinity when looking at the stars, I feel a connection with people that I may have only met for a few moments, or some that I’ve never even met in person. I wanted to believe so badly that there was a unity amongst every piece of matter in this universe. This book has resonated so deeply with me. Rebecca’s life is so very different from mine, but hearing her tell her testimony of hiding in the spiritual closet and learning how to trust that we are exactly where we need to be when we are there hits home so much. Trust the callings of your soul, she says. I had the urge to read this book for almost two weeks before I decided to purchase it... and when I finally listened to it, I could not get enough. Her voice and words were calming at the end of the day. She has encouraged me to look deeper into my own soul and uncover the spiritual truths that I have been seeking for so so long now. Thank you.
