Historia
The Grand Hotel is a horror novel by esteemed best-selling author Scott Kenemore ( Zombie, Ohio) that takes the reader on a thrilling ride through an interconnected series of stories narrated by the desk clerk and the residents of the hotel itself. And while it is not known whether or not the desk clerk is actually the devil incarnate, it is strange that so many visitors who come for a tour of the hotel have a way of never leaving.

Really bad
Revisado: 07-29-22
I hate to admit that I listened to the whole thing. What can I say? I needed background noise while I worked. From the embarrassingly ridiculous sex scenes - where the male’s penis is referred to as his “sex” (wtf?!) and the women have “tight” nipples - (wtf is a tight nipple?) to the closing scene where the woodland creatures all gather to protect the heroine, this was an utterly predictable and insipid story. I truly feel like part of my brain has rotted away. Next time I’ll work a little harder on finding the right background noise.

Historia
Lee would gladly trade all his psychic gifts for a chance at ordinary life with his husband and his little girl. Three years into their marriage, they're settled in their new home - but the House of Joy can't shield them from an oncoming threat with the power to uproot their whole world. Lee can't define it further, and even his beloved Gideon can't unmask a monster with no face at all. Gideon is mired in problems and secrets of his own as he struggles to adjust to his new rank and the complexities of plainclothes police work with CID.

Why couldn’t they all have been like this?
Revisado: 05-30-22
I Strongly suspect that a Harper Fox is the pseudonym for two or more people - and that the first and second half of the series were written by different people. The series went from boring porn wrapped in a very flimsy cover, to an interesting story combining Cornish mythology with modern day events and interesting interpersonal relationships
At the beginning of the series I had to skip through endless “lube encounters” in an effort to piece together some semblance of a story. Towards the end of the series, the focus was on the locale and characters relationships with one another - with only a passing nod to the fulfilling physical bond between the protagonists.
If it hadn’t been a long weekend with a lot of yard work to get through, I never would have stuck with the series though. Perhaps if the author(s) went back and rewrote the first several stories they could actually charge for the books

Historia
Gideon's managed to swing a few festive days off, and he and Lee are looking forward to celebrating their little girl's first birthday. But duty calls, and Gideon is too good an officer to ignore the summons. He finds himself on the streets of Penzance, helping police the midwinter Montol celebrations. It's his third winter solstice with Lee, and disturbance, danger and magic are in the air. His daughter is beginning to show some remarkable gifts, and not all the family can cope with them.

Revisado: 05-29-22
Now that the author has realized that porn (let’s face it, that’s what it is) isn’t as interesting to an actual story with meaningful characters.

Historia
The wedding is just the beginning...Gideon and Lee have spent a year in chaotic married bliss, with all the trimmings - a dog, tricky in-laws, and a baby girl they both adore. But even the best of lives can be fragile, and a shocking family loss hits their new world like a demolition ball. Gideon has little energy left to investigate a murder that's taken place in the fields outside Dark. He still has his duties to his community, though, and with Lee at his side, he begins to unfold the mysterious death of Farmer John Bowe.

This one goes a lot lighter on the porn. I was getting so tired of hitting the skip button for a good portion of every chapter. Finally a focus on the story - greatly improves the experience

Fine for a free book, but…
Revisado: 05-24-22
Is the graphic sex really necessary ? The stories are kind of thin but fine for background while cleaning, walking dog, etc. I have to skip through the sex scenes cause - really? It’s a bit much. Maybe skip those and work a little harder on the plot

Historia
Gideon Frayne has spent his whole working life as a policeman in the village of Dark on Bodmin Moor. His first missing-child case is eating him alive. When his own boss sends in a psychic to help with the case, he's gutted - he's a level-headed copper who doesn't believe in such things, and he can't help but think that the arrival of clairvoyant Lee Tyack is a comment on his failure to find the little girl. But Lee is hard to hate, no matter how Gideon tries. At first Lee's insights into the case make no sense, but he seems to have a window straight into Gideon's heart.

Revisado: 05-23-22
I’m no prude but I don’t expect graphic porn to pop up in the midst of an otherwise cozy mystery. I skipped 50 shades of grey for a reason. I’m not gonna tell anyone how to write a book but at least give a reader fair warning

Bizarre mix of Christianity and male apologism where females serve only as background props
Revisado: 04-30-22
The main character keeps talking about his Christian morals but the lives of all male characters are ruled by their dicks - explaining that that’s just the way men are - kind of offensive. Does the author even see the hypocrisy?

Seriously, a dull recitation of facts is why lots of kids hate school. This could be fascinating if presented well. She doesn’t even try.
