I wish I had known about this book when it was printed but I was lucky enough to read it as of today. I found a similar book by John Kiefer Carbonite solution that I started in 11 years ago. I can attest to everything that Gary Taubes stated to be a fact. I started eating exclusively, protein, and fat and salt, and I lost 40 pounds and have kept it off for the last 10+ years. I am a 51 years old woman 5’6 and weight 140lbs effortlessly. also, my labs are impeccable:D

It’s very difficult to discern the discontent and rage coming from the working-class whites in modern America, but this audiobook helps you understand why they behave the way they do. Yes, they may seem like a "bunch of lunatics," but at the end of the day, they are just like us.

While listening to this audio all I thought was how much I relate to this but on a different level. I grew up in Vallejo California with a mother on welfare who only cared about her education and being with a guy that was not the father of her children or should I say some of her children. I never once felt victim and I knew I would get out of the state I was in under my mothers watch and I did. I’m so glad I found this this audio by JD Vance So enlightening and inspirational
