An excellent book on NDE's.
Revisado: 07-24-22
This book is a fine addition to the literature on Near Death Experiences. Dr. Greyson has explored every reasonable avenue of explanation in his research and presented the evidence he gathered in an unbiased way. His idea that consciousness can exist independently of the brain and that the brain itself acts as a filter for the mind at large is intriguing. The book starts a little slow but it is definitely worth the wait for what comes later.

Historia
In the mid-1970s, scientists began using DNA sequences to reexamine the history of all life. Perhaps the most startling discovery to come out of this new field is horizontal gene transfer (HGT), or the movement of genes across species lines. For instance, we now know that roughly eight percent of the human genome arrived not through traditional inheritance from directly ancestral forms, but sideways by viral infection - a type of HGT. In The Tangled Tree David Quammen chronicles these discoveries through the lives of the researchers who made them.

An honest review
Revisado: 07-24-22
If you are looking to learn about the actual science behind the ideas and theories in biology and evolution, you will find the book rather shallow. This is really a book about the people behind the ideas. It was an excellent series of biographies but I wish it fleshed out the ideas themselves in more detail.

Historia
With its acid edge and wicked humor, JL Davis (writing as Jeff Davis) delivers a rapid fire depiction of bureaucracy gone wild that digs underneath the fingernails of the typical blue collar worker, satirizing both modern day relationships and business life. Specifically, if we can't stand our jobs and families, live for the day to escape!

Great story with versitile characters
Revisado: 08-19-17
Would you listen to Nesting with the Loons again? Why?
Yes. The characters were entertaining, the narrator did a fantastic job delivering the story and the audio itself had multiple thread plots.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jack Snaggler, the main character who was the catalyst for such personalities and who encompassed the American dream. He was closely followed by Bob Wetterman, a quirky sidekick and others such as Ed Shoemaker, a man determined to run away from the family he loved to a place they'd never find him.
Which character – as performed by David Bosco – was your favorite?
Bosco performed all characters well, but Jack and Wetterman were my favorites.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
The only thing crazy is being sane !
Any additional comments?
I'll be looking for more audios from both Davis and Bosco in the future. An excellent entertaining listen.
