I was a bit disappointed with this narration, I felt it lacking in sounds, this word has a lot of potential for this kind of narration to go a bit wild, they didn't deliver. The all Prime voice in Neva wasn't as "punchY" as I expected. Is inevitable to compare previous narrations and narrators and their interpretations. Also MR sounded way to young, great voice just the wrong one imo. I did liked the lady that played Neva. Really fit her. Cornelius voice actor would have been great as a MR now that I think about it...hmm.

Anyway, as always, great story. Ilona Andrews make everything engaging and memorable.

Really enjoyed this adaptation. Great job! And of course, great story. This one has been one of my favorites since I first read it. Always appreciate a new experience while re reading a book.

There are cats in this books...

And I love cats. So I will keep trying even tho some of the stuff is just plain wrong in my humble opinion. Not the bits about the cats, just the human and nano and whatever the truckery is happening with the humans in this books.

*sigh*

Ah and the narration is nice, I enjoy it.

Much better adaptation than MB. I do admit the music at sad parts made me laugh. You know that joke about the 🎻 when someone is melodramatic? Yeah. Literally violins? Maybe not, but I guess the vibe it gave me is clear. I would cry at this parts in previous reads and now with the music I felt like the characters were getting disrespected. The bad choice in music and volume bothered me once or twice. But this time it was easier to manage the face expressions(not even on purpose) of "wtf" and/or the almost automatic disconnection from the story.

The cast did great. They are part of the reason all of what bothered me didn't do it as much as in MB.

The battle scene, that beginning of it, Kate's crazy laugh, perfectly done. Loved Julie's voice.

Story is a very familiar one for me and I was excited to finally hear this version. Not only because a new narrator(s) was introduced (I did loved Renee's work, still do) it was dramatize and getting a new version of a very well loved story is always exciting, so is a bit painful to admite is the first time I didn't enjoy Magic Bites. The weird music, the sounds didn't integrate well with the narration. The volume was going up and down at times which was plain annoying or highly comical. I am a fan of this kind of audiobooks and this one disappointed. Some pronunciations were very distracting. With Mahon for example, I would hear "mom" a time or 10. All of the above didn't bothered me as much as hearing K & C first interaction and feeling that iconic moment was, flat. Which I know it isn't.

I will still read the rest, the narrators weren't terrible or even bad. Just different and that difficulty can be worked on with time.

Almost perfect...

The story was good and very promising(for a new ARC) as always the authors do well in catching and keeping the reader's attention. The narrators(new for me) were fine, the change in voices was not as hard as expected. Some pronunciations &/or some enunciations were a bit annoying or very different but nothing too bad.

Feels good...

..to enjoy a good audibook, and find the females characters treating splendid their pairs. I grew tired of the never ending unnecessary drama between ladies in books, even famous series. Envy, cat fighting, drama that reminds me the telenovelas my abuela would watch, totally ridiculous. Not here. With book 1 I became surprised, book 2 hopeful and by now I am sooo glad this author is making this ladies empower each others. One of the things that have made me fall in love with this universe. Waiting for more books!
