Historia
Pancho Barnes was a force of nature, a woman who lived a big, messy, colorful, unconventional life. She ran through three fortunes, four husbands, and countless lovers. She outflew Amelia Earhart, outsmarted Howard Hughes, outdrank the Mexican Army, and outmaneuvered the US government. In The Happy Bottom Riding Club, award-winning author Lauren Kessler tells the story of a high-spirited, headstrong woman who was proud of her successes, unabashed by her failures, and the architect of her own legend.

Historia
It is the most famous military installation in the world. And it doesn't exist. Located a mere s75 miles outside of Las Vegas in Nevada's desert, the base has never been acknowledged by the US government - but Area 51 has captivated imaginations for decades. Annie Jacobsen had exclusive access to 19 men who served the base proudly and secretly for decades and are now aged 75-92, and unprecedented access to 55 additional military and intelligence personnel, scientists, pilots, and engineers linked to the secret base, 32 of whom lived and worked there for extended periods.

Very informative and kept my interest.
My complaints are: The narrator mispronounced the state of Nevada hundreds of times all the way throughout the audio book. This drove me crazy being from the state of Nevada. Also she said one of our WW2 pilots was dogfighting a Japanese jet fighter during the war. The Japanese did not use a jet fighter in WW2. They only had a prototype like the German ME-262 that was never used in combat. This made me question the rest of the facts in the book. Other than that, I liked the book.

Historia
The great Oglala Sioux chief Red Cloud was the only Plains Indian to defeat the United States Army in a war, forcing the American government to sue for peace in a conflict named for him. At the peak of their chief’s powers, the Sioux could claim control of one-fifth of the contiguous United States. But unlike Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, or Geronimo, the fog of history has left Red Cloud strangely obscured. Now, thanks to painstaking research by two award-winning authors, his incredible story can finally be told.

An excellent book that is unbiased and tells the brutality of the Indian Wars of the plains Indians and US soldiers. Definitely a must read for all that have interest in that period of American history.

Historia
The Texas Rangers came to life in 1823, when Texas was still part of Mexico. Nearly 200 years later, the Rangers are still going - one of the most famous of all law enforcement agencies. In Cult of Glory, Doug J. Swanson has written a sweeping account of the Rangers that chronicles their epic, daring escapades while showing how the white and propertied power structures of Texas used them as enforcers, protectors, and officially sanctioned killers.

Very informative and biased.
Revisado: 02-01-22
According to this book the Texas Rangers along with the white people of Texas are a bunch of no good racists. Almost all the white Rangers disliked native Americans, Mexicans, and especially blacks. The Rangers were also very corrupt. They would lie, cheat and steal at every opportunity.
I know they’re bad law enforcement guys out there and probably much more so in the early days of the Rangers but sometimes the rules have to be bent to exterminate the criminals.
I think this book is very left wing/ liberal which really killed it for me.
