kept persisting hoping for a decent ending
Revisado: 04-09-19
the narrative just went on and on and i stayed with it hoping for a decent ending. so disappointing. perhaps if the reading had been better and the personalities were better drawn and there had been more substance to the story line i may have given it 2 stars as it was i just could not wait for it to finish. seriously lacking credibility. so so boring.

Historia
Cornwall, 1818. We continue the tale of Ross and Demelza; of the wayward Valentine Warleggan, whose existence keeps open the old wounds of the feud between Ross and George; of Bella, the Poldarks' youngest daughter, whose precocious talent as a singer is encouraged by her old flame, Christopher Havergal, and by a distinguished French conductor who has more in mind than Bella's music; of Clowance, the Poldarks' widowed daughter, who considers remarriage to one of two rival suitors; and of a murderer who stalks the villages of West Cornwall.

What did you like best about this story?
i love everything about this book, including the additional mystery woven into the story line.
although it could have easily been left out.
What about Oliver J. Hembrough’s performance did you like?
excellent reading. could not be better.
Who was the most memorable character of Bella Poldark: A Novel of Cornwall 1818-1820 and why?
Harriet and George Warleggan and to a lesser degree Valentine.
Any additional comments?
i read these novels after the original series were aired on TV some 20/30yrs ago. brilliant. so it has been such a pleasure to listen to them again. and now i am going to re listen to them from the beginning again. everything else pales to insignificance. highly recommended.
