Historia
Nathaniel Bainbridge is used to hiding, whether it's concealing his struggles with reading or his forbidden desire for men. Under the thumb of his controlling father, the governor of Primrose Isle, he's sailing to the fledging colony, where he'll surrender to a respectable marriage for his family's financial gain. Then pirates strike and he's kidnapped for ransom by the Sea Hawk, a legendary villain of the New World. Bitter and jaded, Hawk harbors futile dreams of leaving the sea for a quiet life, but men like him don't deserve peace. He has a score to settle with Nathaniel's father.

A m/m bodice ripper
Revisado: 08-06-18
This was a fun listen. The cover of this book should have been styled after the old school bodice rippers because it would have been on point . This is not a book that will change your world. However, it will take you back in time and get you a little hot. Like I said fun.
Also, this performance was spot on. Colins is a solid narrator, not on my top 5 but I have yet to be disappointed. He's not one who's voice alone could do me in but with a good author... yum is a word right?

More Please!
Revisado: 05-03-18
This author is new to me but I am now a BIG fan. For a lot of m/m romances the plot is purely focused on the relationship struggle or/and the fight to come out but this story takes that and does it on an epic stage. It also keeps you guessing about the big W's (who, what, ect) until almost the end. I'm in love with this author and their story weaving skills. Joel Leslie again knocks it out of the park. Taking a great book and bringing it to life. Just one more example of why if he performs it I have to at least try it.

Good book with bad narration
Revisado: 02-12-18
Would you consider the audio edition of Some Kind of Magic to be better than the print version?
Convenience, I use audiobooks because I don't have time to sit and read but I can listen when I am doing otherthings. The performance was so bad I almost gave up. However, the story was good enough I stuck with it.
What other book might you compare Some Kind of Magic to and why?
This author has the same feel as Kim Dare and Megan Derr. Lots of depth to the characters in a short amount of time, enough humor to keep it from being depressing and lots of love.
What didn’t you like about Ron Herczig’s performance?
Absolutely nothing. This is my second time buying this book. The first time I only got an hour into it before I returned the audiobook and just read the book. This time I want to go through the series again but I don't have time to read them all. I only stuck with it for the story itself.
If you could rename Some Kind of Magic , what would you call it?
Werewolf - the oblivious one
Any additional comments?
If you have the time to read the book please do. The story is really good but this narrator sucks. I wish the author or publisher could get someone else to read it, my pic would be Mark Westfield (think "Hell & High Water by Charlie Cochet) that would have been amazing.

I have been waiting a long time for this book. K C Wells is a favorite of mine and I rub my hands with glee waiting for the audio. I had almost given up hoping that the Secrets series would make it because the second e book has been out for some time. I am forever glad I did not give in, due to the fact that I also love this narrator. Please hurry up with the next one. I really don't want to wait.

I'm done with this author
Revisado: 12-15-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone that likes BDSM but can over look bad character development and inconsistencies.
What was most disappointing about Patricia Logan’s story?
She took beloved characters and completely backslid in their growth. Then introduced a new face with little depth.
Would you listen to another book narrated by Peter B. Brooke?
Yes, his skill is he only thing that got me through his book
What character would you cut from Red?
Red
Any additional comments?
I love all the doms.com related books up until Secrets. I could not get myself to finish that one as well. I this Logan my have lost her magic for me. I think she needs to go back to full langth books so that she can better and more consistently build her characters.

Within the m/m romance category it is difficult to find a coming out story that feels unique. The book description had me thinking this was going to be fluffy and sappy without much backbone. I was pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Though written in an almost journal like style I ended feeling like I spent the day getting to know not only Nick but the whole cast. The author took enough time to develop personalities that engaged me. Normally when I get frustrated with the protagonist’s stupidity I want to put the book down and walk away. This time I was invested enough to want to smack Nick upside the head, roll my eyes and ask “then what happened “?

My only complaint can with the class chapter. I did not see the need for confrontation Nick was given. I would have felt better with him having stood with his friend not the other way around.
Over all this is a book I will keep and read again.
P.S. The narration was seamless enough that I finished writing the review of the book before I remembered I listened to the story rather then having read it.

I would have loved this book if I had read it. The narrator was terrible and at times almost ruined it. However, the author's story was different and strong enough to keep me going. With a baby at home I don't get time to sit and read but I wish I could have with this one.

Good for the heart
Revisado: 06-22-15
Andrew Grey spins a well connected world. It's amazing to see how he connects most of his books even if it's just in little way. (Spoiler ) There is a date night at a well known café. However, it was almost ruined for me by the recording. I had to listen to it at half speed because the narration just sounds like it's on fast forward.

I loved this book. The characters were charming and the author made the setting easy to picture. There was plenty of steamy scenes but enough emotion to get me invested in their happiness. However, what made this book amazing was the narration. I don't think I would have enjoyed the text version as much. His voice brought the characters to life.
