Always looking for books that will last me for a while and of course this one definitely checks that box!
It took me a bit to get into but once I did, I was hooked. I thought narration/performance was excellent! Overall a very interesting and well written book!

This book really made me think about how I, as a follower of Jesus Christ, as well as the Church should live in today’s society and its politics of empire. Purely based on scripture and history, the author lays out a simple and biblically documented path to following Jesus well, being the light of the world, and serving in the place where God has placed us, rather than letting the politics of the empire of the enemy, infiltrate and divide us as a body of Christ.

I'd stayed away from Michener because I read so many reviews slamming the narrator. Didn't have a problem with the pace at all. Really enjoyed revisiting one of my favorite reads from many years ago!
