Good story

overall I liked the story and the entire premise. I only gave the 4 star for the fight scenes. they always seemed to be brushed over too quickly. I felt they failed to portray the level of challenge the Victor faced at times. I kept going "Oh, fight Scene is about to start....and it's over." I get that this is a personal preference thing, so I wouldn't take a full star away from it, but audible won't let me do partial stars.

it was okay, but it was missing something.

I felt like it was missing hooks to pull you into the story like the previous books would. without spoilers, yeah there were some hooks set up, but it felt like they were rushed past, so they didn't have time to set in.

4 stars for narration due to background noise. I noticed it in the previous book too. It was better in the later half of the book, but the sound of breathing too close to the microphone was distracting.

The audiobook was as good as I remember the book being when I read it a decade ago.

The narrator captured Coburn's personality perfectly. I read this a decade ago and enjoyed it. it was the first time I read something where vampire met zombie and I've yet to read anything that went about it quite the same way as Chuck did here. 10/10 would recommend.

The ending was great. Lots of action, but it's not told quite as "In the moment" as some other smaller fights have been. mostly because of how big the fight is. created a big buildup forbthe next book too.

Huge, and I mean HUGE development in those last 2 hours. I now know WHO Mr. Church is. This has been a major teaser throughout the series and it has finally been revealed!

Having listened this far I like the writing style and the world Javon has created. It's different than others in this genre in that the author has fun with it. Some of what happens is unrealistic, but in a fun way the audience can laugh over. His characters are real people, not some special forces group trying to save the world. Just real people trying to get by in a world full of flesh eating former humans.

Loved the Mo-sodes and his general input on events lol. I don't want to post spoilers, but I'll never look at the baptism area of a church again. By far my 2nd favorite scene. As my first favorite is my death scene! What a way to go, so so so happy I didn't go out after a reassignment surgery like some others in past books lol.
