Historia
Ryan's opinion has always been that it's better for him to leave a job, rather than be there long enough for his bosses and coworkers to realize how incompetent he is. At least he still has his dignity if he exits on his terms. His latest job? Executive assistant at a consulting firm. However, he quickly realizes that he's in over his head. The company is too big, and his job too important. It's only a matter of time before he makes a critical error. But with the previous assistant leaving, he feels compelled to stay—at least until they can find somebody more suited to the role.

Short. Sweet. Fluffy.
Revisado: 11-22-23
This one was just what I needed: a short, sweet, fluffy, and satisfying listen. This wasn't instalove, but the pace was quick and gratifying with just the right amount of spice thrown in!

Incomplete
Revisado: 05-20-23
I knew going into this it was categorized as a trilogy, but that's not what this is. To me, a trilogy is three books that stand on their own and come one right after another. This feels like one complete book that someone divided into three equal parts and decided to call a trilogy. This isn't a cliff hanger, this just abruptly stops in the middle of the story. It feels a lot like the pay as you go apps. You get the first third of the book, if you want the next third, please insert more money now.

Historia
Sam of Wilds faced the Dark wizard Myrin and lived to tell the tale. Granted, the battle left him scarred, but things could be a hell of a lot worse. It’s not until he reunites with Morgan of Shadows and Randall that he realizes just how much worse things could be. Because the scars have meaning and hint at Myrin’s true plans for Sam and the Kingdom of Verania. With time running out, Sam and his band of merry misfits must travel to the snowy mountains in the North and the heart of the Dark Woods to convince the remaining dragons to stand against Myrin.

I Love This Series!
Revisado: 07-20-22
Everything TJ Klune is amazing, and this is no exception. The narration is amazing, bit I could definitely do without the sound effects. Michael Lesley gives all of TJ Klune's characters so much personality and so much sass!! But the sound effects took away from that at times. They felt unnecessary and kind of forced, like they were just looking for spots to insert sounds, so we occasionally get a door creaking, or sword sound effects. The sounds definitely weren't made for this audio, just inserted clips, and you could tell. The narration was so amazing they weren't needed, hopefully they aren't in the rest of the series.

OMG the cliffhanger!!
Revisado: 04-26-22
If I didn't have the next several books already in my library I'd be pulling my hair out over this one. The series lost speed for me a bit a few books back, so I had to take a break for a bit. Now that I'm back to it, I'm so glad to see it picking up speed again! I'm also excited about the new character infusions we're getting, I'm hoping to get to know some of them.

Historia
When Emery Hazard and his husband, John-Henry Somerset, arrive home from their honeymoon, they’re shocked (understatement of the year) to find a boy waiting for them on their doorstep. Colt, 15 and eager to pick a fight, claims to be Hazard’s son. It’s almost a relief, then, for Hazard and Somers to be called out to assist the Dore County Sheriff’s Department with what seems to be an impossible murder: a man has been found stabbed to death in a stretch of woods, and the only set of footprints in the soft ground belong to the victim.

Amazing Right Up Until It Wasn't
Revisado: 06-05-21
This book was amazing. I loved the idea, loved the story, and loved the narration. Then with 45 minutes left in the book after spending hours leading up to this point ... it's just over. I feel like I got cheated out of the climax. It was still a great book, it was just a bit disappointing.

Leave The Romance To That Genre Please
Revisado: 04-18-21
The romance in book three doesn't work for me. The first books establish an expectation of Alpha team members and I don't think this attempt at romance fits into the characterization the author established.
I'm also just not a fan of Sarah in general. As out of place as the romance is, I also don't think the callous choices she makes in regards to her husband and child would appeal to the Alpha team members, let alone cement a romantic interest in one of them.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Corey Ellis sure doesn't. Oh, everyone around him seems to have found their happy ending, but he's far too busy to worry about such things. He'll have plenty of time for romance after he survives his last summer before graduation. So what if he can't get his former professor, Jeremy Olsen, out of his head? It's nothing more than hero worship. And that's the way it should stay. Except bi-gender Corey - aka Kori - is interning at Phoenix House for the summer, an LGBTQI youth center, and the director just so happens to be a certain former professor.

Disappointing Conclusion To A Great Series
Revisado: 10-24-20
I went into the knowing the narrator was different. I expected there to be an adjustment from the first three books to this one, and there was. Some of the pronunciation was different, and I felt like the attitudes of the established characters suffered, but it was a good effort by a narrator walking into a series already three books strong.
My biggest issue with this book was the self indulgent political bashing that had zero bearing on the plot to this book. I get that everyone has their political opinion, and I respect that, but I read fictional gay romance to escape from my daily life into a fantasy world, not to listen to someone else's political views.
I could have maybe excused it if it had been worked into the plot, but it wasn't. Yes there were financial obstacles, but it wasn't related to the political views. The previous book had just raised hundreds of thousands of dollars in a single charity auction, but now this book is trying to blame the political climate for their lack of funding. It was a very big stretch to try and justify the opinions expressed.
I'll be returning this book and sticking with the authors others books that focus more on the plot and less on the opinions.

A Little Adjustment Goes A Long Way
Revisado: 02-18-20
I struggled to get into the rhythm of this story at first, the narration was a little more fast paced then what I'm used to. I've never changed the settings on an audiobook before, but after a little experimenting I found changing the pace to .90 was just perfect. Once I did that, everything was great. Good story, good narration, already bought the next in the series.

A Little Disappointed
Revisado: 12-16-19
I'm a little disappointed on both the writing and the performance part of this book.
As far as the performance goes, for the first ten or so books certain terms and names were pronounced the same. In the last few books however, they've changed. I find it distracting, because every time I hear it I mentally correct it and get distracted from the story. I also think the editing has gotten a little lax the further into this series you get, like they just aren't trying very hard anymore.
As far as the story goes, I feel like Qhuinn's a bit out of character in this. And that's fine, if the author wants to go that way then by all means take us in a new direction. But then Qhuinn does yet another 180 in the last fifteen minutes of the book in order to bring it to a nice neat little closing. I'm sorry, but you don't call the mother of your children a whore and an incubator, then shoot at her while she's holding your children, and then have a heartfelt moment of reconsideration and go back to acting like everything is fine without so much as a conversation about what happened. It was just very rushed and not at all satisfying. I needed some adjustment and transitioning into the four of them being one big happy family.
