It's a shame that frank muller is unable to continue reading for us. I hope his recovery is progressing.
Wolves of the calla continues to expand on the lives of the travellers and again links other King novels with the dark tower. It is full of all the King delights - good versus evil, the shoot out, the heroes. What's not to like?

Roland and Susan

Another richly imagined world full of memorable characters that blur the boundaries between good and evil. This is the basis of all Stephen King stories. It makes you ponder the grey areas of ethical decisions and the hold that Ka seems to have on all of us. A must read for the whole of Roland's story.

Not wasted

Such a lot is answered in this story and such a lot remains. Who would have thought of psychotic machinery but Stephen King. By far The Dark Tower is his finest epic work and I look forward to reading the next instalment.

Who doesn't like a good zombie tale

Day one of the apocalypse is full of excitement. There are twists and turns and of course really nasty zombies. An excellent tale.

Seriously good

I do not know how Cassandra manages to maintain the suspense through 5 books but she does it and more. She continues to build her characters who evolve and grow in complexity, inhabiting a world that is alive and vibrant and a little weird. Onward to book 6!

Unexpected

The book jacket blurb does not do this story justice. An unexpected social lesson as well as a thrilling journey through the life of the main character Jonah. Where else could you get an overview of some of the last great musicians as well as an exciting ride through the city. Just wish it had of had some of that great music throughout the story. 10 out of 10 again Mr Koontz!

Sensational

A fabulous debut novel for James Islington! A new saga of magic and intrigue to rival all out there. Boy heroes and girl heroes enough to spare. A bit of romance a bit of sword fighting, lots of magic and conspiracies abound everywhere. Can't wait for the next one!

What a great way to explore the thoughts and feelings of alone-ness or uniqueness. Here is a man, virtually the last man on earth, facing the prospect of a life alone surviving against all odds, growing fond of the very creatures that want him dead. More than meets the expectation of this reader.

Always be a unicorn if you can

This is a delightful story. At times it is dark but always, like true fairy tale, the hero will win out! There is original music between chapters that helps capture the magic. Almost a coming of age story where all characters have something to learn and grow from and where the light at the end of the tunnel is often very small. A children's book for grown ups. If I had a choice I'd always be a unicorn if I could!

Does good always win?

Another angst ridden instalment of the on again off again world of Jace and Clarissa as they battle the demon world. I love the way other characters are enlarged and embroidered as the story unfolds and can't wait to see what Cassandra has in store for us as she awakens the evil Sebastian.
The story is read well although sometimes I crave for some more emotion. At times the readers are a little flat.
