Historia
As soon as the financial crisis erupted, the finger-pointing began. Should the blame fall on Wall Street, Main Street, or Pennsylvania Avenue? On greedy traders, misguided regulators, sleazy subprime companies, cowardly legislators, or clueless home buyers? According to Bethany McLean and Joe Nocera, two of America's most acclaimed business journalists, the real answer is all of the above-and more. Many devils helped bring hell to the economy.

Disjointed.
Revisado: 07-30-24
This was such an uninteresting read, especially for a lay person. Scattered, is the word that best describes the writing.

Historia
Beginning with the story of a simple burglary at Democratic headquarters and then continuing with headline after headline, Bernstein and Woodward kept the tale of conspiracy and the trail of dirty tricks coming - delivering the stunning revelations and pieces in the Watergate puzzle that brought about Nixon's scandalous downfall. Their explosive reports won a Pulitzer Prize for The Washington Post and toppled the president. This is the book that changed America.

. I have seen the movie many times. It doesn’t really capture the scope and brilliance of the authors’ efforts. True investigative journalism!

Historia
The Black Russian is the incredible story of Frederick Bruce Thomas, born in 1872 to former slaves who became prosperous farmers in Mississippi. After leaving the South and working as a waiter and valet in Chicago and Brooklyn, Frederick sought greater freedom in London, then crisscrossed Europe, and - in a highly unusual choice for a black American at the time - went to Russia in 1899. Because he found no color line there, Frederick made Moscow his home. He renamed himself Fyodor Fyodorovich Tomas, married twice, acquired a mistress, and took Russian citizenship.

Enthralling, captivataing

An amazing story of an African-American man, who follows his dreams, and lives his life. No guarantee that following that path leads to a happy ending. But he took risks, endured hardship, and experienced the highs and lows of living a real life. I was rooting for him in every chapter. He did not disappoint. Like a true warrior, 7 times down 8 times up. He kept going forward! He chose the direction for his life. I really enjoyed this book and the story of the man it recounted; especially the fact that it took place within the tumultuous era of the first world war and the Russian revolution. How amazing is it that that such genius can be expressed when unfettered from racism.
