Historia
Julius Caesar has taken his legions north into mighty battles with the Gallic tribes. But as his successes mount, overwhelming ambition and new alliances begin to threaten his friendship with Marcus Brutus, brother-in-arms and fellow warrior. Although the conquest of Gaul has made Caesar a hero all over again, his victories on the battlefield cause still more rivalries at home. And ultimately Caesar and Brutus will have to choose whether to cross the Rubicon - together or singly - and to take the fight to Rome itself.

BRING BACK Robert Glenister!!!!!
Revisado: 10-14-24
How to spoil a really good book? Give it to a narrator (Paul Blake) who obviously could not be bothered to learn from his predecessor's (Robert Glenister) delivery of this story and could not learn how to pronounce most of the names or read properly.
This is the second time I have listened to this book and it is the second time he has spoilt it for me! If I could have marked the Performance with zero stars I would have!

Historia
If, like Kane, you're a Denied Access Area spy for the CIA, then boundaries have no meaning. Your function is to go in, do whatever is required, and get out again - by whatever means necessary. You know when to run, when to hide - and when to shoot. But some places don't play by the rules. Some places are too dangerous, even for a man of Kane's experience. The badlands where the borders of Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan meet are such a place - a place where violence is the only way to survive.

Whatever happened to the author to produce such a mixed bag - great start, ridiculous end!!
Revisado: 04-22-24
Loved the first half; read the second half with a growing sense of disbelief that the plot could become so utterly ridiculous!! Back to writing school for another ten years Mr Hayes!!

Anger is a perfectly normal and healthy emotion. But when it's not managed properly, it can lead to problems—both for you and for those around you. You might say or do things you later regret, or you might get so angry that you hurt yourself or someone else. Many of us struggle with the inability to control our anger. Even though it happens to many people, few of us know how to stay calm and relaxed. Calm Your Anger Now is here to show you how.

While being a bit repetitive, this book is well worth listening to. It is very well and sympathetically narrated, which made a big difference.

Recipes are not necessary!
Revisado: 05-21-18
Great book, great story, great characters!! BUT, completely irrelevant recipes are not needed; especially when they dont even include quantities or any really meaningful cooking instructions.

It would have been five stars all round; but the recipes became one of the most annoying parts of a book that I have ever experienced, so much so that I had to knock of a star for each category.

PLEASE WILBUR!!!!!! Give us something new
Revisado: 10-26-14
Wilbur, Wilbur, Wilbur!!! Where has all the inspirational story-telling gone? This is just a boring monologue that makes one want to vomit every time your self-obsessed main character chooses to tell us just how brilliant he is with everything he does (almost once a page).
We know you just write the outline now, but get someone new to flesh it out! AND, try coming up with a new story-line with some imagination. If not, it would be preferable if you stop writing now, rather than continuing in this vein and taking our coin just because of what you have done in the past.

Julius Caesar has been assassinated. A nation is in mourning. Revenge will be bloody... Rome's great hero has been brutally murdered by his most trusted allies. While these self-appointed Liberatores seek refuge in the senate, they have underestimated one man: Caesar's adopted son Octavian, a man whose name will echo through history as Augustus Caesar. Uniting with his great rival Mark Antony, Octavian will stop at nothing to seek retribution and avenge his father's death.

Get a narrator who knows a little history
Revisado: 08-30-13
What a wooden narration! Made worse by an obvious complete lack of knowledge of the subject matter which led to annoying miss-pronunciation of names & places. Please, Mr Iggulden - a good narrator is almost as important as you! Try Humphrey Bower to see how it is really done.

Be warned!!!!!!! Very dodgy narration
Revisado: 09-30-11
He spoilt this book and he spoilt War & Peace - why do you give classic or historical books to someone who is so devoid of any ability to transform the words into anything resembling reality for the the characters or background scenes? His manner of speaking was completely wrong for this book; he should be left to read books by the likes of Oscar Wilde, which would be much more in keeping with his tone and manner of delivery.

Historia
An innocent man is days from execution. Only a guilty man can save him.Travis Boyette is a murderer. In 1998, in a small East Texas city, he abducted, raped, and strangled a popular high-school cheerleader. He buried her body so that it would never be found, then watched and waited as police and prosecutors arrested Donte Drumm, a local football star with no connection to the crime. Tried, convicted and sentenced, Drumm was sent to death row: his fate had been decided.

Narrated by a six year old!!!!
Revisado: 05-04-11
While the content was good, the one thing that completely ruins this audiobook is the narrator; he sounds like a six year old reading a bedtime story.
