I'm sorry but I just can't
Revisado: 03-25-23
The writing doesn't flow, it feels awkward and clumsy. The story is meh. The characters are just ok, I can't connect with any of them. I was really hoping for more out of this book.

A Very Good Recommendation
Revisado: 12-16-22
This was recommended by an Audible ad on my FB feed so I decided to give it a shot, I was not disappointed!! This story took me through so many emotions, it was beautiful written with dark accuracy. 10/10 would recommend!

Always a good read!!
Revisado: 08-13-22
I've been reading this book series since I was a pre-teen when I found "Valley of Horses" at a thrift store. This finale in the series does not disappoint!! Auel does so good telling us what happened to Ayla, Jondalar and the rest in the years following "Shelters of Stone", you even get to meet some old friends. I love this book and I Love this series!!

The Story Will Always Be Good...
Revisado: 09-22-20
However, I'm not a fan of the narrator, Ax Norman. He doesn't pronounce the names as I believe they should be. I'm sorry but he's just not entertaining as a narrator/reader to me. But as ever, I love these books and this series is no exception. I loved experiencing events through Raistlin, getting to peek behind the Mage's curtains. Even if Ax isn't my favorite, he's not terrible and this series is still worth having in my collection.

I'm sorry, I am but I'm just not a fan of how Ax Norman pronounced names and mispronounces common words. and the way he "yells", drives me batty.

The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. The odds are against him. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low.

A different opinion
Revisado: 07-30-20
When I first downloaded the book I noticed many people had said the narrator was monotonous and some people were put off by the fact he didn't sing the songs. while his voice and speech pattern might be dry, I do not think Fontana is monotonous at all. Often times I find male readers don't do female voices well (( not to my liking?)) if they try to make their voices a falsetto. (( Fontana just softens his voice, which I was fine with. As for singing, I do not like when narrators sing as I have yet heard one who could actually sing. I find I much prefer Fontana's saying the words with a sing-song manner that have it the feel of a song while not butchering it. The story really does a good job showing how Snow became the president we all hated! I highly recommend this book to listen to!! ((or just try the sample and see if you like Fontana's style, you can always read an actual book if you don't like it.))

Not what I had hoped
Revisado: 04-20-20
I might listen to this again later to see if I feel differently but as of last night I nearly don't want to keep it. I don't know how to explain it correctly, but this just wasn't as rich as the original series or even magical beasts. It almost felt like they were trying a little too hard to make the point. Not the cast, they performed very well! Also, might just be my opinion, listen for yourself, you might completely disagree and love it. if you don't disagree you can return the book and get your credit back.
