Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Revisado: 01-25-21
Tiffany is one of the best story tellers I’ve ever read and I’ve read prolifically. I laughed and cried, I was immensely uncomfortable at times and filled with hope and joy at others. If you read one book this year, make High Achiever that book. Tiffany- if you read these, thank you for your brutal honesty. As a woman in recovery your story reminded me of the hope and purpose that even the most tragic addiction story can result in. From the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤️

I think Mel B may be my soul mate.
Revisado: 12-11-20
this book was so... everything. I can't find the words. I feel so much love for this person that I've never met and never will. I feel like I understand her thought processes, the crazy way that her racing mind works. I was encapsulated by every word. I sound crazy, but her story touched my heart and flooded it with every feeling. So much of her story resonated with details of my own life, and so much i just cannot fathom to have experienced. she's now my favorite of the spice girls. I now have a joke that Mel B is my soul mate. Reading this was so personal for me. Good on ya, Mel. Don't ever change. you are perfect the way you are.

I am awe struck
Revisado: 04-19-20
I came upon this book when I noticed a major radio personality disappear from his own show. After doing some digging I realized that this once beloved character was really just that..a character. Not only was he nothing like he pretended to be on the air, he was so cruel he almost tried to ruin Dannie's personal and professional lives.
This book has opened my eyes to the true nature of those that pretend to be something they're not and receive praise while the true fight belongs to those who live and love their authentic selves. Good Riddance Kane. This girl's book is so full of life I feel like I have known her as long as I've known me! I have a passion to do more, be more and help more and with success stories like hers, I know there are no excuses not to rise to the occasion. Thank you, Danni for opening my eyes and helping me realize I really need to take better care of my brows.
