Historia
Sexy, single, and 60, and recently divorced from a cheating husband, Audrey wanted to find a new partner but was scared of braving the dating world again. But nothing could have prepared her for the truth. The first man was wonderful, funny, warm, romantic, and serious about commitment, what could possibly go wrong? A lot, it seemed. This is a true story and cautionary tale that every mature woman - and man - should listen to.

Ridiculous stupid book
Revisado: 09-26-22
I didn’t bother to finish this dumb book. The author recounts a series of virtual relationships. In each, she texts with and talks by telephone with millionaire men who live in other countries. They communicate for months and the man declares his love. They never meet. Finally each man calls wanting to borrow money because he needs to pay taxes to some foreign government or the’ll put him in prison. Each time she refuses to loan the money, The man turns abusive and the “relationship” ends. After the fourth one of these I stopped listening. How stupid.

Historia
Texas, 1921. A time of abundance. The Great War is over, the bounty of the land is plentiful, and America is on the brink of a new and optimistic era. But for Elsa Wolcott, deemed too old to marry in a time when marriage is a woman’s only option, the future seems bleak. Until the night she meets Rafe Martinelli. By 1934, the world has changed; millions are out of work and drought has devastated the Great Plains. Elsa must make an agonizing choice: fight for the land she loves or leave it behind and go west, to California, in search of a better life for her family.

Excellent!

My favorite type of book - well researched historical fiction that teaches me more about a part of history. Excellent story line and brings home the experiences of the dust bowl and the depression flood of desperate people seeking survival in California. Narrator has a pleasant voice.
