Historia
The truth of discovery is on mankind's horizon, a Red Horizon. For nearly four long years, the world's superpowers have mobilized their people and resources in preparation for the next discovery, Mars. The race against one another pales in comparison to the inherent dangers of travelling through the vastness of the cosmos, going where mankind has never gone before.

Re-listen to book one first
Revisado: 02-01-18
The story is fine. Clearly, this is an epic just getting started. What annoys me though is that it's been a few months since I listened to the first but the author assumes you have a good memory of all the minutiae of his first story in the series. Some authors do a great job reminding you of details so you think, oh yeah, that's why this is important. Some do an even better job and make it so that even if you failed to read the first one, you can still follow it. Mercer does neither of those things here, not even a little bit. So the characters felt completely undeveloped and not compelling because the reader is clearly expected to remember all that stuff from the first book. There's even at least one scene that makes an oblique reference to an event that happens in the first book with no lead in and no explanation and left me completely nonplussed. So, don't do what I did, if you listened or read the first one months ago, give it a fresh skim first before listening to this one or you'll probably be as uninterested in the continuation of this story going forward as I am now.

Historia
A contemporary novel about a baby boy abandoned near the Miccosukee Reservation in the Florida Everglades west of Miami. The surrounding community of Native American neighbors adopt and raise the young John Doe as their own, and when they realize that John has the ability to come and go with such stealth that his communal family members seldom notice, he is given the surname Ghostwalker. John Ghostwalker is a kindhearted and precocious young man, a superior student, and a socially peculiar human being.

One to make you smile

Would you consider the audio edition of The Ghostwalker File to be better than the print version?
This is a great story to listen to as it elicits a lot of good feelings. I enjoyed the characters, particularly the main character, and I found his story arc entertaining and thought-provoking.
What does Jim Foster bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Jim does a nice job of making the story flow and voicing the different characters. I always enjoy listening to his deep, rich voice.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
If you have a social conscience about the environment, the homeless, the underdog, this book will speak to your soul.
