Historia
A master chronicler of the deceptions and betrayals of ordinary people caught in political conflict, le Carré portrays the dark side of the unbridled capitalism. The Constant Gardener is a magnificent exploration of the new world order by one of the most compelling and elegant storytellers of our time.

Disappointing
Revisado: 12-11-06
This book dragged on too much for me. I was also disappointed with LeCarre's narration. He seemed to revel in his own words versus tell a good story.

Good Book for Long Drive
Revisado: 09-11-05
Harlen Coben does a good job of creating another unique story. Good book for a long 7 hour drive. Not a "on the edge of your seat" type of thriller, but good twists and good characters.

Historia
FBI agent Rachel Walling finally gets the call she's dreaded for years: the one that tells her the Poet has returned. Years ago she worked on the famous case, tracking down the serial killer who wove lines of poetry into his hideous crimes. Rachel has never forgotten Robert Backus, the killer who called himself the Poet, and apparently he has not forgotten her either.

Another Connelly Winner
Revisado: 07-17-05
When I read the preview and saw that this was the next chapter in the Poet story I wondered if it would really work or if it was Connelly needing to get out another book. Many times books like this dont work especially with such a strong start like the Poet. Happily I'll admit I shouldnt be such a skeptic. Connelly is a great author and each book always seems to stand so well on its own. Great listen. If you havent read the Poet - buy both and you wont get much sleep until you finish them both!

Historia
Howard Carter has just made one of the great discoveries of all time, the unveiling of Tutankhamun's tomb. At the same time, Egyptologist Ralph Trilipush finds himself in a slightly less spectacular position. He has staked everything on a scrap of hieroglyphic pornography. Halfway around the world, an Australian detective sets off on a globetrotting quest to find a murderer. Or two. Or three. These events, seemingly unrelated, are about to collide in a spectacular yet utterly unpredictable fashion.

Disappointing
Revisado: 07-17-05
This was a tough listen. For the most part this is a one person narrative from a very disturbed troubled person. There are some twists but you have to slog thru hours of comtemplative narrative that is just depressing. If you like psychological introspection it might be for you, it was a disappointment to me.

Nice change of pace for a mystery
Revisado: 10-23-03
I listen to lots of mysteries and I get tired of being able to predict the story evolution. This had a good pace, good story, and some interesting twists and turns. Woth the try.

Good listen on a long trip - unique plot
Revisado: 06-05-03
Da Vinci code certainly has a unique plot - it will be interesting to some and maybe offensive to others. It moves along nicely making a long drive more tolerable. Plot was a nice change of pace and does take you along some paths not seen in many mystery novels. Reader is good although the foreign accents are pretty silly and sometimes hard to understand.

Not as engaging as I expected
Revisado: 06-05-03
Took this book on a long drive and found myself distracted and not listening as much as I normally do. Plot was a bit predictable and I found the changing readers distracting as the book progressed.
