normally I avoid space related books - they are just not my thing, however this book may have just changed my mind. the Mc is quite a hoot - brash, sarcastic and unbelievable lydia funny. not only is the book well written and funny as all get out, scott aiello delivers an outstanding performance. I will definitely complete the series. if you knew how much I hated space books, you would understand how great a book this actually was.

once I saw the next installment was being released in May, I listened to the series again to refresh my memory. this is an exceptional series. I did find Ty a little annoying and wondered why in the world would the fate of mankind be placed in the hands of such an immature teen, but he does grow albeit slowly. i really liked nyrissa and found myself chuckling several times in her reactions to Ty, but i think my favorite character has got to be Ferrin. every character is strong in their own way and Wiseheart is bringing all of the pieces together nicely. can't wait till May and the next book. I just hope it is the last one in the series. I don't want to wait another year or more to see how this story ends.

BORING

starts out promising, then turns to trash. if I wanted to read erotica, I would choose a book in that category. the main character gets tiring as well as the dialog, the plot, and everything else. if I had paid for this book, I would most definitely asked for my money back. I don't normally like female narrators since they rarely have the range to carry off a variety of voices - particularly male voices- but this one wasn't bad. too bad she had such poor material to work with.

Just continues to get better and better

I must say I am thoroughly enjoying this series. The characters continue to grow, there are plot twists galore and outstanding narration. this is a winner.

Great story/Great performance

Normally I don't buy books less than at least 18 hrs long, and quite honestly only listened to book one because it was included in my membership. However I've enjoyed this one so much I purchased book two and, unless it is a complete dud, will purchase every book in the series.

The narrator gave an excellent performance which enhanced the story tremendously. It's basically coming of age that is very believable. The characters continued to grow throughout the book, overcoming obstacles, challenges and prejudices. I an really looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Starts slow but gets better with each book.

the narrator was very flat in book one and I wasn't sure I'd be able to listen to her for 90 hours. fortunately I stuck with it and by book 2, she improved dramatically finally getting a range of different voices for the characters.

overall it's a good read. underneath it all it's about a story about family and what ties them all together. I really enjoyed how the characters constantly reevaluated their prejudices, growing in each book, finding ways to live, love and work together despite their differences.

I'm looking forward to the next installment and have added Joe Jackson to my default list of authors to read. Hopefully he will flesh out the stories of some of the lesser characters.

reminiscent of Robert jordan

While the story is good with a fabulous narrator, I'm beginning to wonder when the author will wrap up the storyline. or will he be like Robert Jordan and die before it's done.
