Historia
Bennie Rosato, the founder of the Rosato & DiNunzio law firm, hides her big heart beneath her tough-as-nails exterior, and she doesn't like to fail. Now a case from her past shows her how differently things might have turned out. Thirteen years ago, Bennie Rosato took on Jason Leftavick, a 12-year-old boy who was sent to a juvenile detention center after fighting a class bully. Bennie couldn't free Jason, and to this day it's the case that haunts her.

This was a very good listen, one of Scottoline's best. About time to give Benny a partner.

Historia
J. P. Beaumont is finally taking some time off to have knee-replacement surgery. But instead of taking his mind off work, the operation plunges him into one of the most perplexing and mind-blowing mysteries he's ever faced. A series of dreams takes him back to his early days on the force with the Seattle PD. When tugging on those threads from long ago leads to present-day murders, Beau's suspicions are confirmed. Some bodies from the second watch just won't stay buried.

Oustanding in the series
Revisado: 10-18-13
I love all of the JP Beaumont books, but this in particular was a standout. Full of insight and emotion for JP. Finally, a narrator who is as good as Gene Engene. Don't let him go please.
The authors notes at the end discussing how the idea for the book came about was fascinating. Glad the author didn't listen to a teacher who didn't believe in her writing dream. The books have given me hours of pleasure.

I love J A Jance books. I hate that the publishers cant stick with the same narrator to play the character. Tim did an excellent job. Why don't you guys listen to us? We buy the books!

Historia
The Statfire Breeze steams its way north toward the Gulf of Alaska, buffeted by crisp sea winds blowing down from the Arctic. Those on board are seeking peace, relaxation, adventure, escape. But there is no escape here in this place of unspoiled natural majesty. Because terror strolls the decks even in the brilliant light of day...and death is a conspicuous, unwelcome passenger. And a former Seattle policeman, a damaged homicide detective who has come to heal from fresh, stinging wounds...

Narrator change
Revisado: 09-09-13
I have really enjoyed Beaumont books until this one, when the narrator was changed. He is not as good as gene engene. Story was inf, but it really annoys me when the narrator changes and then future books do the same. I can't understand why it is not understood that the narrator is critical to the enjoyment of a book.

Historia
In a case that spans 20 years, Harry Bosch links the bullet from a recent crime to a file from 1992, the killing of a young female photographer during the L.A. riots. Harry originally investigated the murder, but it was then handed off to the Riot Crimes Task Force and never solved. Now Bosch's ballistics match indicates that her death was not random violence, but something more personal, and connected to a deeper intrigue. Like an investigator combing through the wreckage after a plane crash, Bosch searches for the "black box", the one piece of evidence that will pull the case together.

Good Story
Revisado: 12-13-12
I liked the story, but I have come to associate Harry Bosch with Len Cariou as the narrator. It is hard to change gears when a great narrator is replaced with someone else. A narrator becomes the character and shouldn't be changed.

Best of the Best
Revisado: 09-30-12
This is by far one of the best. James Lee Burke never fails to satisfy. His writing is never gratuitous, using words to set the mood both inside the character's heart and mind and making the landscape it's own character as an integral part of the plot. Will Patton captures the the characters impeccably.
