Amazing sequel to Red Rising
Revisado: 04-01-22
Pierce Brown is a literary genius! And Tim Gerard Reynolds delivers it home with voice acting that brings so much life to the characters. I have listened to each of the available audiobooks a dozen times through. Perfection!!!

Predictable but... oh stars, how fantastic!!
Revisado: 07-26-21
I had been in dire need of a new series to lose myself in after having gobbled up Pierce Brown’s awe-inspiring Red Rising saga for the four thousandth time and everything kept coming up short. In my quarantine-inspired stupor, I was once again surfing Pinterest for more ideas for my fourth RR tattoo and I’ll admit, I was feeling utterly bereft in my despair, knowing it would be next to impossible for anything to even come close to lighting that fire in me the way Darrow, Sevro & Ragnar had, but I kept noticing several other Rising fans creating Pinterest boards revolving around Cinder & Kai and I had to take a chance... boy, am I glad I did. Though the plot was definitely more predictable than most in that it vaguely follows the theme of classic-tale Cinderella, so I knew the general direction in which it was headed, that didn’t stop the first book in the series from giving me all the feels! I laughed, I cried, I shook my head in disgust and in the end, after having powered through book one in one sitting, I proceeded to buy book two. Now I hope to grab a few hours of sleep before departing on Cinder’s next adventure! Thank you Marissa Meyer, for proving there is life after the Golds got taken down by Sevro and his stank-ass Howlers!! Like my chest-piece proclaims, I know Cinder, like Darrow, will eventually be able to shout, “AD ASTRA PER ASPERA”!!

Beautiful
Revisado: 08-27-18
I can't say enough about how wonderfully heartfelt this beautiful story is! The message to be present in the moment and to treat life as the adventure it can be really resonated with me.
The execution by the performers was absolute perfection. The voices matched up with the personalities and the performers enunciated the emotions written beautifully.
I couldn't have been more pleased with the ending. This book moved me in such a way that it will stick with me for a long while.

Historia
Detroit-based homicide detective John Barnes has seen it all - literally. Thanks to a technologically advanced brain machine, detectives have access to the memories of the living, the dying, and the recently dead. But extracting victims' experiences firsthand and personally reliving everything up to the final, brutal moments of their lives - the sights, the sounds, the scents, the pain - is also the punishment reserved for the criminals themselves. Barnes has had enough. Enough of the memories that aren't his. Enough of the horror.

Intense Read!!
Revisado: 08-22-18
This book is not for the timid or the queasy. My knees felt weak a large portion of the time, as Barnes relived Calavera's victim's final moments. It was an incredible, suspenseful ride that paid off at the end in a big way.
The performer of this book hit the mark. His reading style encompassed every emotion the author set out to portray. I typically read books myself and only use the Audible app when I'm walking my dog but I found myself listening to this story more than reading it myself because the performer truly brought the story to life in a way that simply reading couldn't do.
