So, so cringey.

The main character is a lot. I almost didn’t finish the book because of it.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

You're gonna be disappointed...
Revisado: 01-10-18
Maybe it'll be easier to enjoy this book if you lower your expectations. As Andy Weir did such an amazing job on The Martian, I had really high hopes for this book. Unfortunately this definitely is not a book of the same caliber. Rosario Dawson is an excellent actress, but her narration of this book, as well as her attempts at the various accents of the characters, is just bad. Disappointed.

Historia
When their last outgoing flight is cancelled, Ben finds a charter plane that can take him around the storm and drop him in Denver to catch a connection. And when the pilot says the single-engine prop plane can fit one more, if barely, Ben offers the seat to Ashley, knowing that she needs to get home just as urgently. And then the unthinkable happens. The pilot has a heart attack, and the plane crashes into one of the largest stretches of harsh and remote land in the United States.

Ugh.
Revisado: 10-29-17
I thought this would be an adventure story, but it's just a romance novel with contrived plot twists and purposely misguiding narrative. Starts ok, but gets worse and worse. The end made me embarrassed for myself for reading it in the first place. Also, writing related to medicine (or the profession of) is lazy and inaccurate.

Why, oh WHY do they let authors narrate?
Revisado: 09-19-17
The book is fine, but the narration is beyond bad. It's a pity to ruin a classic, and normally I'd be offended for the author, except, well, yeah.

Historia
On the right side of the law. Sort of. Sebastian Rudd is not your typical street lawyer. He works out of a customized bulletproof van, complete with Wi-Fi, a bar, a small fridge, fine leather chairs, a hidden gun compartment, and a heavily armed driver. He has no firm, no partners, no associates, and only one employee: his driver, who's also his bodyguard, law clerk, confidant, and golf caddy.

So BAD!!!!
Revisado: 10-31-15
John Grisham, what happened? This is a collection of short stories, but it's really more like the same story told over and over and OVER. Cops and politicians are stupid, lawyers are spineless except for the main character, who sees everything clearly and is "awesome". I tried to stick with it, but after the 3rd or 4th time around I got sick of it. Couldn't finish.

In this hilarious novel from Pulitzer Prize finalist Lydia Millet, a honeymooning couple makes friends with a marine biologist who discovers genuine mermaids in a coral reef - and who, the next night, apparently drowns in her hotel bathtub. As a resort chain swoops in to corner the market on mermaids, the newlyweds (opinionated, skeptical narrator Deb and handsome online gamer Chip, the world's friendliest man) join forces with other vacationers.

Somebody had elocution lessons!
Revisado: 12-31-14
The story is unremarkable, giving way to the terribly obvious attempts at proper elocution from the narrator. I do not recommend.
