Definitely different from other Kenya Wright books but stellar nonetheless! I really enjoyed the character development even with the fun twists that could have interrupted the plot.

You can always tell when non-Black women attempt to write Black characters because the narrative around race is done so in such a cringy way. As soon as the main character started describing her background and talking about the poc experience and the unrealistic conversations about race, I knew the authors were not women of color. Overall disappointment.

Just so painfully boring

This story left so much to be desired. It was slow and the story fell flat. Annoyed I used a credit on it. I will not be exploring this author’s work.

Perfect storyline

I am a huge fan of Amerie Avant and this book just made me an even bigger fan. The pacing of the plot was consistent with no dead space. Character development was spot on. The cliffhanger was meaningful and I am furious I have to wait for the next book.

I loved 2/3 of this book. It was clever and refreshing. I loved the cosplay elements and the bond between the main characters. HOWEVER, the end was rushed and so many lose ends. It just left me unsatisfied.

The narration and background noise was distracting

The narrator seemed bored a majority of the story and would oddly end chapters with no inflections making the statement of the next chapter odd. Then, there’s the random audio issues and background noises that pulled away from the story.

However, the story itself was cute and well written. I do wish we had more insight to the three years they were apart.

The voice was horrendous

What a great story! However, it was ruined by a horrible narrator. The inflections and accents were very strange and it was hard to listen to the full story.

The character development was incredibly fluid. I loved the storyline and the plot twists. I demand this becomes a Netflix series so I can binge watch!

So Happy To See Jean Pierre

I read Eden and Jean-Pierre’s stories first and boy I’m glad I did not follow the release order because it made this book so much more enjoyable and humerus at points. Kenya Wright is a stellar Romance writer. The intense love scenes are very well developed.

Worst audiobook

The voice is robotic and doesn't match the character at all. It sounds like when you have the computer read aloud. Kisses I purchased it.
