Historia
April 5, 2019: In a cozy brownstone in Brooklyn, the veneer of domestic bliss is beginning to crack. Dan and Isabel, husband and wife, are slowly drifting apart—and both, it seems, are a little bit in love with Isabel’s younger brother, Robbie. Robbie, wayward soul of the family, who still lives in the attic loft; Robbie, who, trying to get over his most recent boyfriend, is living vicariously through a glamorous avatar online; Robbie, who now has to move out of the house—and whose departure threatens to break the family apart.

Beautiful book

Julianne Moore was a perfect narrator and Michael Cunningham’s writing cuts to the quick. I listened to this book with tears streaming and hyper awareness of the small moments of life.

So good
Revisado: 09-04-20
Always sad to finish a book by Don Winslow! I’ve loved this series and have enjoyed following the drama of Art Keller and all the other characters. Ray Porter’s narration is familiar and perfect for the story.

Historia
She used to work for the US government, but very few people ever knew that. An expert in her field, she was one of the darkest secrets of an agency so clandestine it doesn't even have a name. And when they decided she was a liability, they came for her without warning. Now she rarely stays in the same place or uses the same name for long. They've killed the only other person she trusted, but something she knows still poses a threat. They want her dead, and soon.

I never take the time to write a bad review
Revisado: 12-15-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Teenagers who think Daniel is going to turn into Edward at any moment.
What was most disappointing about Stephenie Meyer’s story?
This book was terrible. If the characters had been vampires or werewolves or something supernatural maybe I could have dealt with this, but as just regular humans it was completely unbelievable. The make-out scenes were so bad that I had to fast forward through them. I mean, the fact that I think of these as "make-out scenes" is a result of how silly this book made it all seem. And why did I fast forward through them? For a silly plot line and canned characters. Alex/Juliana is not believable, Daniel seems like an idiot--no one would ever act this way. His brother Kevin is an obvious foil.
I just can't believe how stupid this was.
Which character – as performed by Ellen Archer – was your favorite?
Lola.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
No. I wanted it to--I read the Twilight books voraciously.
Any additional comments?
This is a total waste of time book.

He is angry and he is alone, with only the books on his shelf for company. But those books have begun to whisper to him in the darkness, and as he takes refuge in the myths and fairytales so beloved of his dead mother, he finds that the real world and the fantasy world have begun to meld. The Crooked Man has come, with his mocking smile and his enigmatic words: "Welcome, your majesty. All hail the new king."

Tommyknockers give me the creeps
Revisado: 06-17-14
Would you listen to The Tommyknockers again? Why?
I probably wouldn't listen to this one again soon because of the alien theme- but I enjoyed the reading and the descriptions of New England. In an effort to not gobble up all of his books, I try to limit myself to one SK per month. I imagine I will repeat this book after a handful of years...
What other book might you compare The Tommyknockers to and why?
Reminds me a lot of King's Dreamcatcher- same theme of invaders.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scenes were early on as Bobbie discovered the ship and started to change. Once it picks up speed and moves toward a conclusion my attention started to wander.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Stephen King's writing always "moves" me. His voice is distinct, his characters resonate and I love the chills too.

An epic and gripping tale of catastrophe and survival, The Passage is the story of Amy - abandoned by her mother at the age of six, pursued, and then imprisoned by the shadowy figures behind a government experiment of apocalyptic proportions. But Special Agent Brad Wolgast, the lawman sent to track her down, is disarmed by the curiously quiet girl and risks everything to save her.
