Historia
Mistborn: Secret History is a companion story to the original Mistborn trilogy. As such, it contains huge spoilers for the books Mistborn (The Final Empire), The Well of Ascension and The Hero of Ages. It also contains very minor spoilers for the book The Bands of Mourning. Mistborn: Secret History builds upon the characterisation, events and worldbuilding of the original trilogy. Listening to it without that background will be a confusing process at best.

Very helpful
Revisado: 01-06-22
So glad I found this. I’m a big lover of the original trilogy, but I like the Wax and Wayne bantering in The Alloy of Law even more and I didn’t feel completely comfortable when that series came to The Bands of Mourning. It felt too odd and this story helps to alleviate some of that. It also gives a fuller picture of the ending of the original trilogy, increasing my understanding and appreciation of that part of the story. On top of that you get some deeper understanding of Sanderson’s big picture “Cosmere” and the “Shards”, which is helpful when reading The Stormlight Archive books.

Good but not excellent
Revisado: 10-15-21
Interesting storyline packed with action, but also with almost constant brutal and bloody violence.
Narrator has a good reading voice, but doesn’t manage to give the characters much personality, unlike really good narrators like Michael Kramer and Nick Podehl. It’s all a bit monotonous, and also too fast for me to follow. Had to switch to x0,9 reading speed, a first for me.

Excellent as always!
Revisado: 01-06-18
Written with great warmth and great, insightful and sometimes very funny dialogue. The Riyria books keep getting better for each new one he writes, filling in the bigger story of Elan.

Historia
The ravaged continent of Genabackis has given birth to a terrifying new empire: the Pannion Domin. Like a tide of corrupted blood, it seethes across the land, devouring all. In its path stands an uneasy alliance: Onearm’s army and Whiskeyjack’s Bridgeburners alongside their enemies of old - the forces of the Warlord Caladan Brood, Anomander Rake and his Tiste Andii mages, and the Rhivi people of the plains. But ancient undead clans are also gathering; the T’lan Imass have risen.

So much better than the previous book!
Revisado: 09-19-15
While "Deadhouse gate" was 100% pure misery, "Memories of Ice" was so much more balanced. Still horrific and extremely brutal at times, but also some much needed relief from the bloodshed in the form of love, heartbreak, friendship, compassion and redemption. Well worth the effort.

Historia
It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

Lacking a good Love story
Revisado: 04-15-15
A intriguingly complex and interesting plot, but desperately lacking an engaging love story. Mr Kramer is as excellent as ever.

Best in the series so far!
Revisado: 03-06-15
The love story is as heartbreaking as ever, and I found the action (battles etc) to be better written than in the previous books. The narrator does an excellent job. To sum it up, I enjoyed it immensely! Some "Twilight" vibes towards the end (Marry me, Bella), but I didn't mind. I'm a big fan of Twilight.
