Historia
The country is reeling. For the sixth time in American history, the winner of the popular vote will not occupy the Oval Office. President Malcolm MacLeod, the Machiavellian incumbent, was spared from impeachment only because his political foes were certain they would oust him at the ballot box. Now, he appears to have secured a second term, thanks to a narrow victory in the Electoral College.

Too political
Revisado: 03-07-25
I don’t like politics as a storyline so I was very disappointed. Typically like his books.

Horrible narration
Revisado: 03-21-24
Please stop using digital voice. It is absolutely awful. There are mispronounced words, no emotions and it simply sounds robotic.

Historia
Land law, water rights, deeds of ownership? Boring. Unless of course, people are shooting at you because of them. The Civil War has disrupted thousands of lives, including that of Sarah Jackson, whose husband was killed for not joining the Confederate Army in Georgia. Sarah and her daughter flee to Nevada Territory and are eligible for homestead rights. After claiming her one hundred sixty acres in the lush Golden Valley, her world crumbles again. Banker Preston Miller claims he owns the entire Golden Valley and all the water in the Good Hope River. Jackson cries foul in a letter to the U.S...

Awful digital narration
Revisado: 03-16-24
The digital narrator was awful. There were many times when I seriously contemplated not finishing the book.
