Historia
In Black Eye for America: How Critical Race Theory Is Burning Down the House, Carol Swain and Christopher Schorr expose the true nature of Critical Race Theory, and they offer concrete solutions for taking back the country's stolen institutions. They describe CRT in theory and practice, accounting for its origins and weaponization within American schools and workplaces; explain how this ideology threatens traditional American values and legal doctrines, including civil rights; and equip everyday Americans with strategies to help them resist and defeat CRT's pernicious influence.

Dr. Swain is a passionate patriot!
Revisado: 02-28-24
I love this book and am sending it to my family and friends. Dr Swain breaks down Critical Race Theory and why it is damaging for everyone. So many books are theoretical without any direction of how to put words to action. Dr. Swain provides a list of instructions.

Heartbreakingly honest
Revisado: 02-04-24
I was terrifically moved by Matthew Perry sharing his lifelong struggles with addiction. We're told addiction is a disease, but for those of us blessed to not suffer from it, it's hard to understand why those who do can't make different choices. There is still so much we don't know about the brain and how it functions, how different experiences in childhood change it, how it adapts to give us what we think we need. I think it was even more sad knowing that this addiction finally won, despite his 40+ year struggle. But the happy ending remains, knowing he is finally and completely at peace. God bless, Matthew.

If you love Julie Andrews...
Revisado: 04-17-21
What a talented, gracious, and kind woman. I have always admired Julie Andrews. Listening as she tells her own story with such gratitude and humility, my admiration has reached new bounds. She shares her early life story with honesty and appreciation for the people and experiences that made her who she is today. Not all of those people and experiences were positive..yet she is able to matter-of-factly accept them as part of who she is today. We can all learn from her wonderful example. And to hear her read this in her own voice...the entire experience is delightful!

Excellent content - everyone needs to learn!
Revisado: 12-02-20
I've been a nurse for 40 years but learned so many things from this book that isn't taught in nursing or medical schools. Medical providers instill fear of all things hormonal in their patients, but have no problem ordering SSRIs, staring therapy, and more as treatments for the effects of hormonal imbalances. Women need to pay attention and learn this so they can advocate for themselves. there are risks with everything, but I'd rather take my chances with properly leveling my hormones instead of just adding more drugs to bury the symptoms... and increase the overall risk profile.
Narrator was ok for the most part, but I heard several mispronounced words throughout that possibly weren't noticable to nonmedical folk. But I expect better of a professional.

Revisado: 09-10-19
I've always loved Thomas Moore's writing. He is such an important voice in our busy, unreflected world. He has taught me so much and accompanied me on my life's journey for many years. I hope future generations will learn to listen to the wisdom he shares. We all must learn to listen to and nurture our souls.

Revisado: 04-18-19
I had become caught up in the KonMari Method of organization. But when I got to the paper category.... I didn't know what to do with the continued stream of information. A mentor recommended Getting Things Done... and I wish I'd found it 15 years ago. I'm gifting this book to every busy person I know!
