This was my first book by this author and although I thought it was well written, the darkness of the storyline was not for me. In all fairness, she does give trigger warnings, which I didn’t think I had, but so much of the story made me very uncomfortable to listen to. I wanted to stop many times throughout, but was able to finish. I will definitely not be listening to any more of the books in this series, but would see if this author has any books that aren’t so dark. On a side note, the narrators were great.

I was really looking forward to this book, and although it was well written, most of the book revolved around grief and loss of a child and it dominated the love story between the characters. I didn’t feel like they had much time together that wasn’t surrounded by her emotional loss and angst. I probably wouldn’t choose this subject matter in the future.

I’m a fan of this author but I’m not a fan of mafia books. I found it hard to get through the entire book but I wanted to give it a fair try. In the end, I realized I will not be listening to anymore books of this genre.

I loved every second of this listen! This is one of my favorite authors and she did not disappoint. It was the perfect start to the new series and I can’t wait for the next one.

Holy hotness!!!

I saw a lot of reviews about the narration and I couldn’t understand all the hype, but it was absolutely incredible! I’ve never listened to an audiobook that was so well done with the narrators. Absolute perfection! I loved this book SO much! This was my first book by this author but will definitely not be my last.

Loved every second!

A.L Jackson did not disappoint! I always eagerly await the release of each of her books and this one was one of my favorites. I can’t wait to see what’s next in the series. Andi Arndt was of course amazing and this was my first time hearing the male narrator and I felt he did a good job as well. If you are considering purchasing, don’t wait, it is well worth it!

Not what I expected

The storyline was just ok in my opinion. The story focuses so heavily on body image and poor self confidence that it was a put off for me. Although the female narrator did a fine job on the female parts, her male voice was very distracting. Of course, Zachary Webber was the best part of this book. (I chose this listen because of him). I felt he had so few chapters so I was a little disappointed.

Too much angst

I am newer to this authors books so was rolling the dice with it. The first book in the series wasn’t too bad but it felt a little too simple in writing style, however I was connected to the main characters in the story so I pushed on to book 2. It was a struggle all the way through to finish it. I was so aggravated by the situations the characters were in and their ridiculous reactions. It was just angst on top of angst. Truly unbelievable and by the end, I didn’t care if they were together or not because I was so frustrated in the story. I would not recommend it to others and will likely not try anymore of this authors books.

LOVED IT!!!!

This was my first book with this author but it will definitely not be my last! Such an unexpected find. I loved everything about this book from the witty banter between the subjects, the storyline, the narration… just everything was great! Looking forward to checking out some of this authors other books.
