Great storyline but didn’t like teen romance
Revisado: 05-20-24
The book was good but I felt there was a lot more unnecessary language in this book and the sexualized teen stuff was weird. I just think it’s weird, as an adult, to listen to sexual stuff with young people,
However, I will say The story line was interesting and good.
I think part of the change in writing was due to the new author. It seemed to be aimed at more YA? The rest of the series hasn’t been this way.
Also, there are only so many times crazy things can happen before it gets repetitive. I feel like at some point there has to be a little resolution. I don’t know if that will happen due to the sad passing of Rachel.

Weird story line
Revisado: 05-17-24
I really like her other books but I’m just not a fan of superimposing modern time on past times or of making cheating seem romantic. It was really hard to listen to. I almost never stop a book but it really got to me. I mostly finished it because I don’t like to leave things unfinished. Also, the twist makes the story more twisted.

Confused
Revisado: 07-07-23
I never really got into the book. It was weird and had no compelling story line.
Also, I kept waiting for it to tie into the first two books. It’s a series and literally has no tie into the first two books other than apparently she’s a midwife. Sadly, there is hardly any midwifery in this story.
I’m very hesitant to want to listen to the next books in the series because i don’t want another random story that doesn’t tie in and has no compelling storyline

When a third senior, the mayor’s son, drives through the plate glass window of the town’s diner and ends up in a coma, the deaths no longer seem unrelated accidents. The town is paralyzed with fear. The police can find no good explanation. Other students deny any knowledge of what’s happening, but Detective Kylie Milliard is certain at least some are lying.

Sadly cliche
Revisado: 06-13-23
Possible spoiler.
I wish I could have liked this. I really liked the first two but this one was difficult for me.
I literally re-listened to the first two to enjoy the third book.
I hate the attack on Christians and Christian beliefs. I just feels like every book nowadays and every movie has some agenda.
Where are the books that are good just because they are good? Why is there ALWAYS an agenda? Isn’t there good writing anymore that doesn’t have some political or religious agenda?
This aspect really threw me off and it was hard to enjoy the rest of the book.
Please don’t write to please everyone. Just write because you are a good writer and can make things come to life!

fix narration
Revisado: 02-27-22
the storyline was ok. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the narration hadn't been so awkward. There were very long pauses in awkward places throughout the whole book and was very distracting. Not sure if it was the narrator or bad editing.

great book very helpful
Revisado: 06-23-20
the book was very well written and compelling. it really helps someone to understand the feelings of an abuse victim and hopefully spread understanding on how to create a safe place for kids/victims come forward and feel safe.
The only reason for the 4 stars was the sometimes monotone voice of the reader (author) during key events in the book.
It is still definitely worth the listen though.
