I never wanted to disappear more than while around my family. Briar Lane, the girl only useful for one thing: my surname. A business handshake and pawn to be traded. My father's chess piece shuffled between empires. That was my life back in L.A., but all it took was finding the dirty secret stuffed in a jacket pocket, and my entire world unraveled.

Storm (MMC) and Briar (FMC)
This book is imo the spiciest of the series so far. Uncle Storm has experience, a dirty mouth, and is an unbelievably HOT cowboy 🔥 🥵. The psychical chemistry between the MC's is over the roof! Having said that, the emotional intimacy was somewhat lacking, but the many spicy scenes 🌶 made up for it 😏😏😏.
Regarding the plot, besides the relationship between the MCs, there isn't a lot going on. The story is low stakes, and the third act breakup was completely "meh" 😕.
I appreciate that Leyla and Colt from the previous installment in the series make an appearance, and we can picture them living a happy life together.
Overall, this is the story about a sexy cowboy 🤠 and a much younger, fairly inexperienced FMC who happens to be his niece (they're NOT blood related). If you're in the mood for that, it won't disappoint you.
Happy reading! 📚

It’s the most wonderful time of the year...but not for Maelyn Jones. She’s living with her parents, hates her going-nowhere job, and has just made a romantic error of epic proportions. But perhaps worst of all, this is the last Christmas Mae will be at her favorite place in the world - the snowy Utah cabin where she and her family have spent every holiday since she was born, along with two other beloved families.

Addictive story that has heart, spice and Xmas cheer!

4.5 / 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐️
2.5 / 5 🌶️
Spicy Chapters: 18, 19, 23
First Person POV 🙌🏻
Andrew (MMC's) and May (FMC)
Pros:
The story has a lot of heart, as well as believable and lovable side characters. It is also funny, and I found myself giggling and laughing more than once.
I could not for the life of me put this book down. It is ADDICTIVE. If you don't have time to read more than a few chapters, be warned that you might have to sacrifice and/or change your plans last minute, so that you can find out more of what happens in this story.
Cons:
The FMC seems to complain a lot about things without making any effort to change them (she despises her job, her unrequited crush, etc.). Thankfully, as the story progresses, she decides to take action and to live her life more authentically.
There are too many characters in this story, imo. Especially considering that the book is only 307 pages long. It got a bit confusing at times, gathering who was who - in relation to each other. I'll include a little cheat sheet for your convenience.
---
Andrew MMC (29) is described as kind, warm, handsome, funny, playful, creative, affectionate
May FMC (26) had a crush on MMC since they were kids
Theo (26) is Andrew's younger brother
Miles is FMC's younger brother (he was an unplanned surprise baby)
Benny is kind of an uncle and confidant to FMC.
Others:
Aaron & Kyle: fabulous gay couple, they have twins (adopted?).Twins' names are Zachary and Kennedy, both very smart
Ricky and Lisa (Andrew & Theo's parents)
Parents of FMC live in California but are divorced (mom re-married). Dad is a surgeon, and Mum is an artist 🎨 who remarried a man with 2 daughters.
---
I wasn't convinced at the start about the time-travelling factor, as I was expecting a contemporary story without the fantasy part of it. Expect a "groundhog day" type situation. You've been warned! Once I wrapped my head around it, though, it was ok.
Overall, this book was a delight, and I would recommend it to pretty much anyone who enjoys a rom-com and the Groundhog Day story. Bonus points for the cozy Christmas theme.

Aiden (MMC's) and Lucie (FMC)
Pros:
I really enjoyed the relationship & chemistry between the MC's. I found it to be very realistic and palpable. Bravo to the author BKB👏
The banter and flirting between the MC's was a delight to read, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The spice 🌶 was 👩🍳 💋, with lots of tension, longing, wanting... Let me tell you, it seemed like foreve before something physical happened between the MC's, BUT I promise you that it is worth the wait. And listen, Aiden is bossy. Yes. In a VERY HOT (and assertive) WAY 🔥 🥵.
This book is funny! The side characters (baby daddy, FMC's daughter, and Lucie's best friend) are hilarious, charismatic, and endearing.
Cons:
In this story, Lucie was the one making the first move with Aidan (on several occasions), and imo she did most of the pursuing when it came to escalating the intimacy scenes from a kiss to more. There's no problem in this per se, but I personally prefer it when it's the MMC who does the chasing. After all, sperm chase 🍳 egg in nature, and not the other way around.
There are too many mentions of Aidan's gold necklace on almost every chapter. Ok, we get it. He's a hot guy who rocks a golden necklace, and the FMC is curious and wondering about it A LOT. 👌
I highly recommend this book, which has "Love and Other Words" by CL vibes. Well done to the author for coming up with this beautiful, heartwarming, emotional ride.

Patrick (MMC's) and Rachel (FMC)
This is one of the best novellas I've ever read/listened to. Considering that it's a short story, it doesn't feel rushed, and the plot was coherent and realistic.
I must admit that a story with a shy & nerdy MMC is my cryptonite, bonus points if he has a dory mouth and is naughty behind closed doors.
So yes, this novella deserves 5 stars imo, and I wish that I could read more about the MC's and what happens to them next. In other words, I didn't want this story to end.

Pros: Adorable spicy novella about childhood friends who reconnect as adults at a bar's Valentine's Day themed evening and fall for each other.
The MMC is shy when out and ahout, but HOT and BOSSY when in bed 🛌 🔥 🥵 ♨️
Cons: There isn't a lot of character development, but that's probably expected due to the short nature of the book.

Seth (MMC's) and Charlotte (FMC)
Pros:
Abby, Abby, Abby... This author is incapable of writing a bad story. She just can't. All of the books, novellas, and short stories are pure perfection. Just like her MMC's who are dreamy, well-rounded, charismatic, and kind. I just want to jump inside this book and become best friends with the FMC. Protect her with my life and marry Seth's twin so that we can all become a happy family together ❤️ .
Cons:
Nothing. This book is perfect and shall live in my heart and brain forever & ever👌👩🍳💋.
But ok, if I HAD to mention something "bad," it would be that there were no spicy scenes 🌶.
Thank you, Abby Jimenez, for writing stories that are always deep, inspiring, empowering, positive, and mind-blowingly great 🤯. You have in me a forever fan and vow to read everything and anything you publish.

Ben (MMC) and Kate (FMC)
Pros:
This book is such a delight to read. The plot is not just entertaining but also original and different from most romance novels I've read until now. There are political elements that cause a lot of hurdles between the two MC's, as they belong to opposite parties (Kate is a Democrat while Ben is a Republican).
I appreciate that with MC's are strong-willed and carreer driven. The FMC has a backbone and stands up for herself, which I loved.
Cons:
Imo the MMC Ben was a bit too perfect, patient, and understanding with the FMC Kate. She was scared of falling for him, and the repercussions that dating him would mean to her career.
She kept trying to keep Ben at a distance and even suggesting they date in secret after they confess to liking each other. This was a selfish request from Kate, and I felt bad for Ben, who wanted a real, straightforward relationship without having to hide.
Overall:
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to everyone. It's funny, it's whitty, and the characters are endearing. Hope you'll enjoy it at least as much as I did :)

Phoebe Stone (FMC)
Pros:
This book was beautifully written and had me hooked from start to finish. It's so refreshing to read a story so different, original, and overall with so much heart and depth. It covers heavy topics such as divorce, suicidal thoughts, infertility, and grief in some parts of the book. But it's also funny, lighthearted, and witty in others. I found myself cracking up more than once out loud while on the journey of discovering this beautiful masterpiece.
The audio version is fantastic. The narrator does an incredible job👩🍳 💋 !
Cons:
I wish that the ending would've had a clearer resolution, as it seemed pretty open ended imo.
In conclusion:
The hype about the book is totally justified imo, so please pick it up and enjoy!

Keyanna “Key” MacKay is used to secrets. Raised by a single father who never divulged his past, it’s only after his death that she finds herself thrust into the world he’d always refused to speak of. With just a childhood bedtime story about a monster that saved her father’s life and the name of her estranged grandmother to go off of, Key has no idea what she’ll find in Scotland. But repeating her father’s mistakes and being rescued by a gorgeous, angry Scotsman—who thinks she’s an idiot—is definitely the last thing she expects.

This book was so entertaining and a pleasure to read / listen to. It's a huge improvement from LF's previous story about a female cheff and a hockey player imo.
The story in Under Loch and Key has adventure, love, and covers important topics such as the loss of a close family member, grief, reuniting with estranged family, etc.
There are some supernatural elements, which I'm usually not interested in, but they work well for the plot.
The spicy scenes are HOT! Lots of delicious dirty talk and high-quality smut... 🔥 🔥 🔥

A timeless love story with bite. It was a night like any other for funeral home director Ginny Lynn, until the exceptionally handsome - and unfortunately deceased - young man on her embalming table sat up, opened his emerald eyes and changed the course of her life forever, making her feel quite fluttery while he was at it. Humans aren't supposed to know Jonas Cantrell, or any vampire, exists. It's kind of a major rule. Despite his instantaneous bond with perfectly peculiar Ginny, he has no choice but to erase her memories of their one and only meeting.

Jonas (MMC) and Ginny (FMC)
Dual POV👌
Great narration by Elisabeth Hart and Jason Clarke 👩🍳💋
Ginny is a mortician and is about to embalm Jonas (victim of a prank by his roommates) when he suddenly wakes up. She feels an instant attraction to him and persuades him of not erasing her memories that night, as it was his intention. They slowly get to know each other and eventually fall for each other, but there's so much more to the story. It has a lot of Twilight-esque elements, so if you are a fan of the series, you'll absolutely adore this book.
This story was almost perfect imo. There was love, adventure, mystery, murder attempts, fantasy elements (which I'm not often drawn to)... I must say that I have been blown away by the way the story was carried and the chemistry of the characters. The side characters were also endearing and added depth to the plot.
I am in awe of how TB keeps trying out different genres and nailing them. I am a forever fan of this author and vow to read everything she published, even if it's just her grocery list!!
Imo this is a must-read for ant TB fans. Also, if you liked Bride by Ali Hazelwood, I don't doubt that you'll enjoy 'Reborn Yesterday'.
