Historia
Elmwood Springs, Missouri, is a small town like any other, but something strange is happening out at the cemetery. Still Meadows, as it's called, is anything but still. Funny and profound, this novel in the tradition of Flagg's Can't Wait to Get to Heaven and Thornton Wilder's Our Town deals with universal themes of heaven and earth and everything in between, as Flagg tells a surprising story of life, afterlife, and the mysterious goings-on of ordinary people.

Slightly scattered in a beautiful way. Absolutely wholesome. Brought to memory my grandmithers and great aunts.

I was immediately immersed in this world, the challenge at hand, and the dramas to come. I cannot wait to listen to more from this author!

Historia
Kyle Davies is doing fine. She has her routine, after all, ingrained in her from years of working as a baker: wake up, make breakfast, prep the dough, make lunch, work the dough, make dinner, bake dessert, and go to bed. It's a good routine, and it's almost enough to help her forget the scars on her wrist, that she lost her job at the bakery when she checked herself in as an inpatient at Hope House, then signed away all decisions about her life, medical care, and wellbeing to Dr. Booth. Now a new item's been added to her daily to-do list.

A Positive Journey of Healing
Revisado: 10-12-22
The author's portrayal of mental health and the relationships we experience is refreshing. This story captures every day struggles, more serious, often overlooked demons, fears of inadequacy, and the hopeful side of life. I cannot recommend this story more. It is uplifting and real.

Historia
Nameless, Kentucky, in 1969 is a hardscrabble community where jobs are few and poverty is a simple fact - just like the hot Appalachian breeze or the pests that can wipe out a tobacco field in days. RubyLyn Bishop is luckier than some. Her God-fearing uncle, Gunnar, has a short fuse and high expectations, but he's given her a good home ever since she was orphaned at the age of five. Yet now, a month shy of her 16th birthday, RubyLyn itches for more.

Absolute poetry. The story is gripping, while telling tales of a "simple" country life. GodPretty is the third book I've read/listened to by Kim Michele Richardson, and may be my favorite so far. Katie Schorr narrates it perfectly with her lilting drawl and capturing emotion. Highly recommend.
