Rook got a second chance. And she took it. Because when fate throws you a bone - you grab it with both hands and run. Antoine Chaput knows the minute he spies Rook in his photography studio that she's got "The Look." The dark and desperate look he must have to land the exclusive Tragic Media contract. Rook is paired up with top model, Ronin, and he's everything her abusive ex-boyfriend wasn't.

Rook and Ronin are my favorite
Revisado: 08-04-16
I wish all of JA Huss's book were on audio. I have a small farm and it's a lot easier to listen than it is to actually read but after Book 1, I HAD to read the rest. Rook and Ronin are beautiful people, not just easy on the eyes either. Rook is so tortured and Ronin is so good with her. Their photo shoots were combustible. I was pretty breathless for all of them. You could feel their chemistry. I couldn't imagine being in on the actual photo shoots. I would have had to grab the nearest lighting guy and escaped to the changing room :)

RK and Missy are the best. What a mind fuck though. I feel horrible for RK in this entire story. The tragedy that has been his life makes my heart ache in a very real way. When he finally remembers what happened-sheesh. The angst is very real in this story. I loved-and hello, Sebastian York- his voice is perfect as always.

Historia
He wants things from me. Dirty things, nasty things, forbidden things. And I have to give in. His attention is completely inappropriate, but I can't say no. The way he looks at me...the way he watches me through my bedroom window...the way he drags me deeper and deeper into his completely forbidden fantasy just...turns me on. He knows it turns me on. He holds all the power. He holds all the cards. He holds my entire future in his hands. I have to give in. Because Mr. Alesci is my teacher. And I need everything he's offering.

Wow, just...wow. I wish I was 18 again
Revisado: 08-04-16
I don't really wish I was 18 again but man, if Mateo was my teacher...yum. I don't identify with this book really but I loved listening to it. The characters are good and Mateo is old enough and broody enough to melt the panties off of any women, not just and 18 year old. Granted, said 18 year old has had more tragedy in her life than most 50 year old so she's a world older than most. As I type this, maybe I do identify with her. I wasn't your typical 18 yr old either but her circumstances are so very different and at 18(which I try to put myself into my 18 yr old head) she's had a pretty rough few years. I don't know how I would have coped with the things she had to. I mean, instead of awful males in my life, I grew up with my mean manipulative mom, that used good men to get what she wanted. You know the kind, sweet sensitive, do anything for you. I watched her use them and discard them, so when I went out looking for my other half, I new I needed an Alpha, I had years of training on the Beta's and I just new I couldn't do that to someone. Mateo is such a good Alpha, but at 18 I don't think I would have know that. He would have scared the shit out of me.
So enough about me and my 18 year old angst. I loved this book because it was nice to see that while I was raise in a really fucked up situation, I wasn't alone in this, and the kind of drama you endure when you are young, really does shape who you will be.

Historia
Ford Aston is not too picky about what he wants out of Christmas. He's not into this holiday - like at all. He doesn't do presents or family dinners or parties or church. He does pets. And he's got one lined up for Christmas Eve. In fact it's the highlight of his day. And if he can get through drop-in visits, nosy 12-year-olds, an inappropriate conversation with his best friend's girlfriend, dinner with a family that's not his, and a party at his mother's house - well, he might just get home in time to enjoy himself with a stranger and make it all okay.

Ford makes my heart hurt
Revisado: 08-04-16
Any additional comments?
Ford has a beautiful mind, he works so hard to be empathetic but it's just so hard for him. Ashleigh is beautiful inside and out. I love how everything seems fated. What can I say, listen to all of JA Huss's book that are on audio and read the ones that aren't. She writes in a way that I identify on a personal level with. There are laugh out loud moments but not always in a feel good kind of way, more like a "I cannot believe he/she just said that out loud" kind of way. I have had so many of those moments in my life. It's nice to know I'm not the only one.

Grace Kinsella is social. But she likes the anonymity of being a blue bird on Twitter, where she can shoot arrows of pithy filth at her favorite movie star. Virtual love is right up her alley. Vaughn Asher is dominant. But only in private. A former child actor turned mega-movie action hero, Vaughn knows how to navigate a world filled with paparazzi, avoid the tabloids, and have his fun, too.

Grace is just funny. Her boldness makes me laugh. She might have secrets but she has a filthy mind and a great sense of humor. I'm pretty sure that if you like JA Huss books, then you will love Grace

Vaughn finally realizes Grace is much more than a submissive he can control. He wants more. More of everything. More nights together, more mornings together, more years together. They connect in a way he never imagined. He wants the happily ever after and he wants it with Grace. But everyone has a past, and Grace and Vaughn are about to come face to face with people they thought they left behind. Real life collides with fantasy, and only facing the truth will get them through.

Wow, why isn't this series a movie?
Revisado: 05-02-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Legend to be better than the print version?
Yes, I love these two narrators, they are so great together.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I loved Reese and Maverick. You can't have one without the other. They are so quiet that you have to be able to be inside both of their heads in order to know what turmoil they are going through. I found myself craving the interaction with Maverick and Remi though. They needed each other in order to wrap up this series and it was done in such a way that my heart broke with love for all of them. I sincerely hope that Katy Evans decides to write another series that interacts with this one. I have an emotional hangover and I truly love these characters like family.
Have you listened to any of Grace Grant and Sebastian York ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Yes!!!!! Can you say "the Beautiful Series" by Christina Lauren. That series is smoking and if you loved the Real Series you will love that one, seriously, give it a listen. It's not a heavy as this series but still amazing all the way around.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Emotionally captivating,(please make a movie with this series please) but you can't just do a movie with this book. You have to start with Remi and Brooke
Any additional comments?
I am left a little emotional today. I've had Real in my book que for a really long time and I'm sad that I left it there for so long. I am not a huge fighting fan but I see the error of my ways. I listened to every book in this series in a week. I couldn't stop. I miss all of the characters now and wish there were more. I want to learn more about the children as they grow, maybe Katy will give us Racer, Iris, Magnolia and the baby that Makenna and Pandora gave up. I can seriously almost outline a story for Racer and Magnolia. Maybe Katy Evans would like to be my friend in real life. I love the way her mind works. I would love to know how Racer and Iris grow up with Remi and how they help him through his emotional upheavals, not making the story about Remi but how they take what they are given in life also and make it a success or failure. I'm sure there is a little bit manic in Racer and I would love to see how he processes it. I would love to see snapshots into Maverick and Reese also. You know they have some remarkable babies too. Maybe Reese is a teacher and instead of going the conventional route of a brick and mortar school, maybe she winds up being the teacher for the children of the circuit and her children also. A homeschool/tutor. Maybe she is Racer and Iris's teacher along with her own. Gosh, I don't even know. My mind is still reeling. I am obviously not a writer but I don't want to let go of these guys.
Thank you Katy for writing characters that I can actually believe are real and that have amazing connections that I can see in my minds eye.
By the way. This is the first review I have ever written and I have listened to at least 200 books. This isn't truly a review about Legend as much as it is an overall feeling of the series. I kept Pandora and Melanie out of it but they are great too.
