Historia
Kling's autobiographical tales are as enchanting as they are true to life: hopping freight trains, getting hit by lightning, performing his banned play in Czechoslovakia, growing up in Minnesota, and eating things before knowing what they are. In the comical yet poignant title story, Kling straddles the world of the ordinary and one rivaling Dante's inferno as he learns how to use voice-recognition software after a life-threatening motorcycle accident.

This is one to listen to over read on the page, IMO. The author gives animated and energetic voice to his relatable and endearing humor.

Enough with the vibrations!
Revisado: 09-01-16
Lots of good stuff in here about affirmation, confidence, acceptance, and more. But I couldn't not roll my eyes about vibrating at a high frequency to bring high-minded things into your life. Intentions matter, of course, but I can't vibrate at the frequency of wealth to manifest money. That's a little too pseudo-spiritual for me. If you're into crystals and vibrations, this might be the right book for you.

Not as profound as I'd hoped
Revisado: 04-19-16
I got the impression this would be more about the couples' lives post mortem, but actually most of the book is flashbacks to the couple's "origin story." A fine read, but actually less macabre than I'd hoped, and less thought-provoking than I'd expected from other reviews here. It's fine.

Historia
For the past twenty-five years, Margaret Atwood has written works of striking originality and imagination. In The Blind Assassin, she stretches the limits of her accomplishments as never before, creating a novel that is entertaining and profoundly serious. The novel opens with these simple, resonant words: "Ten days after the war ended, my sister drove a car off the bridge." They are spoken by Iris, whose terse account of her sister Laura's death in 1945 is followed by an inquest report proclaiming the death accidental.

Ignore the bad audio for the multifaceted story
Revisado: 03-27-16
I thought of quitting due to the poor quality of the recording, but I'm so glad I didn't. If you like Margaret Atwood's other books, you should definitely check this out; there are more plot threads and surprises than usual.
