I couldn't put this book down! It was both funny and captivating, keeping me entertained from start to finish. This is a must read! Strangers in Their Own Land analysis of American politics is overdue. Dr. Hochschild’s respectful brings to life stories of real people struggling to make a living in a world which seems to be against them. She analytically breaks down the emotional terrain of politics in the Louisiana bayou by examining the role of feelings in politics.
