Historia
In retreat from a devastating loss and crushing injustice, Katie lives alone in a fortresslike stone house on Jacob’s Ladder island. Once a rising star in the art world, she finds refuge in her painting. The neighboring island of Ringrock houses a secret: a government research facility. And now two agents have arrived on Jacob’s Ladder in search of someone—or something—they refuse to identify. Although an air of menace hangs over these men, an infinitely greater threat has arrived, one so strange even the island animals are in a state of high alarm.

Another great Dean Koontz story
Revisado: 09-27-23
I have to tell you that I’m excited that I discovered Dean Koontz beyond Odd Thomas. I think what I have enjoyed most about all of these Dean Koontz books is that he knows how to write an ending. There are some very, very very popular authors that write very popular books (SK) and their endings really stink however, Dean Koontz has learned how to wrap up a story with a real ending based on the books I have read and this book is no exception. Cheers to you Dean!

"My name is Steve Lewis. I know this because it's one of the few things I remember. I have a wife, a son, and I run a successful business. I know this because that's what they tell me. I remember things that aren't true. I forget things that are. I see things and people that aren't real. You see, I have brain damage...and that's the only rational explanation for things like this."

Blown away. An awesome story
Revisado: 04-21-23
This was a great book. Downloaded the Audiobook version and was immediately captivated. Had me guessing the whole time on what was actually happening. Glad I ran into the author at an event or I probably never would have found this powerful and intriguing book!

Love Russ Walker books and this one too…but a bit confusing at first.
Revisado: 03-30-22
I read the original Chronos key series. And it was awesome. I also read another series by the author and they were awesome also. The best thing about this book is the voice actor is the same as the other books and I really like her performance.
But I’d have to tell you it was confusing at first. I didn’t know where this book was going why the plot line was happening and where the characters were tied to the original series. It took me a while getting through the book to fully understand what was going on. But other than that I plan on reading or at least listening to the other two books in the series because I am hooked.
Overall intelligent writing and well researched. I love the mix of real history and alternate history and how the author keeps track of everything I will never know but she is obviously smarter than I am in many ways ha ha Ha.
Thank you Rysa for your intricate storytelling.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Great book. I think the Audio version is the best and what truly made this a fantastic story. I was blown away with emotion the last 10 minutes that is how involved I was with the characters. A true tribute to the producers and narrator.

Great book and concept
Revisado: 06-26-18
A great concept. A great storyline. Although the story does drag a little bit in places especially with Kiernan and Kate’s romantic confusions due to the timeline shifts. I am Amazed that the author can keep all of this straight. But I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to book number three.
