Had higher hopes for this book
Revisado: 08-02-24
I feel like a lot of this book is him talking about his mystical visions that “are not” drug related lol. And he tries to secretly talk about chakras without actually admitting it’s the chakra he’s teaching ppl about. Parts of his book is very educational and important, but a lot of it is non-sense and repeated over and over. I got through half way and had to stop listening to it.

Good read
Revisado: 05-06-24
Probably a book most of the world should read. On my happiness and spiritual journey, I have found this book confirms all the things needed for overall well-being. It was nice to find all this out for myself, and then hear that science backs it up. With the acronym SPIRE, I have found all to be very important, with spiritual well-being, and having healthy loving relationships, to be superior.

Historia
According to the Pew Research Center, approximately 37 percent of Americans identify themselves as spiritual but not religious. How to Be Spiritual Without Being Religious is a book for that sizable number of folks who seek a rich and authentic interior life but find formal religious affiliation unappealing. It is a clear and nondogmatic guide for finding one's own path of transformation, for embracing a vision of a "practical faith" that enhances a life of happiness and peace.

Many books brag about how great the read is going to be, and how life changing it is. I personally didn’t get anything out of it. Just a waste of money and time.

If you’re approaching menopause, in menopause, or are interested in improving your health naturally, here is a book that explains the history of menopause, the evolutionary benefits of this life event, and how to eat the right foods to help you enjoy what should be the longest and most fulfilling part of your life.

Revisado: 08-09-23
3/4 of the book just talks about how women have been mistreated, misdiagnosed, and misinformed. That’s all interesting if you’re wanting to know the history of things, but the real good important information wasn’t till the last quarter of the book. I think more time should have been spent on nutrition than anything else.
She slightly talks about the carnivore diet without mentioning the name of the diet; with just eating nothing but an animal based diet.

Barnum Effect

Can’t help but think on the Barnum Effect with this information. It reminds me of astrology. All the information presented is vague enough to fit most people. It’s not specific enough to really see the importance in this information.

Historia
Since the beginning of recorded history, humans have longed to find the answers to these most fundamental questions. One Truth, One Law has the answers channeled directly from God/universal mind. Everything in our universe is defined by one truth. One truth is the difference between understanding everything or knowing nothing. It’s the difference between being whole or feeling lost. If you have the courage to set aside what you think you know, this book has the answers you’ve never quite been able to grasp.

🤔
Revisado: 11-15-22
Before reading this book I have thought about human beings as God, or little gods. I mean, why not? When deeply thinking about this life, it doesn’t make much sense. How did existence come into existence? And why? Is there universal purpose and meaning to life? If not, then personally, it seems to be just a huge shit show. Many will say, “you make your own meaning and purpose.” But if that’s the case, anything goes. A rapist or serial killer’s meaning and purpose in life could be simply justified if that was the case.
For a while now, in times of deeply loving myself and others, I get a glimpse of a higher-self version of me. From what I have found in my experiences/journey in life, loving yourself and others, being in good healthy relationships, is where I find the most powerful feelings of meaning and purpose to my life. It’s so powerful that I can’t ignore it.
I don’t know if I can agree with everything in this book. It seems a bit far fetched. But I will say it’s nice to hear someone having that similar God Theory as I do with human beings being God (the universal divine, not to be confused with the Biblical god, or any others from religion). We are spiritual beings, or God, experiencing a human existence. Why? I have no fucking clue. But I do believe that. Think of it as droplets 💧 to an ocean. After all, a ocean is made up of lots of droplets. I guess we all desire to be one again with the ocean.
If anything, I think the key points to take away from this book is love. Love for yourself first, always. And then love for others.
Side Note:
Be cautious with never turning spirituality into religion. Practice honesty, being kind, and respectful, to yourself, and to others.
I went from being raised in a Christian home, being a Christian, to being spiritual, to being an atheist, to being spiritual again. I have learned a great deal being non-religious. Through being non-religious and spiritual, those were my best times in discovering myself. I adopted an evidence-based approach to life with a slightly opened door to spirituality. Good luck to anyone else searching for truth. My advice, do your best to follow your heart.

"Forty-four percent of the American population is convinced that Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead sometime in the next 50 years," writes Sam Harris. "Imagine the consequences if any significant component of the U.S. government actually believed that the world was about to end and that its ending would be glorious. The fact that nearly half of the American population apparently believes this...should be considered a moral and intellectual emergency."

Great read for not only the Christian but to all who are religious.
Revisado: 11-25-18
Something to give deep thought to:
There are individuals in every religion who claim they feel the presence of their god, will die for their faith, know their god on a personal level, know their faith is the truth and claim all other gods and belief systems are wrong.
At what point is this not seen as absurd?
Another favorite of mine for all Christians to read is “Drunk With Blood,” by Steve Wells.
