Historia
Though several historians had published works on America's westward expansion prior, Paxson's Pulitzer Prize winning study was groundbreaking in its complete and unified presentation. Beginning with a survey of the frontier at the end of the French and Indian War and proceeding to follow the frontier westward until the close of the period of settlement in about 1890, Paxson's cross-sectional method carries the narrative in a wide windrow of detail, serving as a detailed and scholarly synthesis of the fragmentary work of previous historians.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Revisado: 01-11-23
Well written and after years of being vilified in the UK media Harry is finally able to tell his own story!

Ok but too repetitive
Revisado: 08-09-21
I liked the story in general and as part of the trilogy but it’s as though the author came back to the book after long periods away and forgot what she already wrote. I had to fast forward through the last 6 hours, except I listened to the ending 1 1/2 hours which was enough to catch up. Going on to book three.

Historia
Philippa Gregory's first story in the best-selling Wideacre trilogy. A compelling tale of passion and intrigue set in the 18th century. From the author of The Other Boleyn Girl and The Virgin's Lover. Wideacre Hall, set in the heart of the English countryside, is the ancestral home that Beatrice Lacey loves. But as a woman of the 18th century, she has no right of inheritance. Corrupted by a world that mistreats women, she sets out to corrupt others.

Too much about villagers
Revisado: 08-01-21
I enjoyed the book in general even with all its disturbing topics. However, I had to fast forward at the endless repetition of the villager difficulty. I’m starting book 2 and hoping for another good story but with less repetitive sections.
