Historia
When Misty was six years old, her family started to live and dress like the Amish. Misty and her sister were kept as slaves on a mountain ranch where they were subjected to almost complete isolation, sexual abuse, and extreme physical violence. When Misty reached her teens, her parents feared she and her sister would escape and took them to an Amish community where they were adopted and became baptized members. Misty was devastated to once again find herself in a world of fear, animal cruelty, and sexual abuse.

Unbelievably sad. A reminder of the cost of invisibility and “minding your own business.” Thank you Misty for sharing your story. May it open eyes and change attitudes.

Historia
When Chaz Perron's wife discovers that he is running a scam (posing as a marine biologist to doctor water samples so that an agribusiness tycoon can continue illegally dumping fertilizer into the Everglades), he pushes her overboard from a cruise liner. Unlucky for Chaz, Joey survives clutching a bale of Jamaican pot. Rescued from the Atlantic by a former police officer, Mick Stranahan, she decides not to report him but instead haunt and taunt him, with Mick's help, by playing dead.

FANTABULOUS!!!
Revisado: 12-31-22
What a marvelous story! It is rare that I recommend the audio version of a novel over the written version, but in this case, I can’t stress enough how much the performance adds to the enjoyment. It is a silly tale, well-written and well-told in which you can appreciate the basest instincts of human nature, both the good and the bad. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Do not waste your time

Everything about this was awful. Storyline was lame. Performance was weak. Not up to the standards I expect from a James Patterson author partnership. Pass on this one.

Historia
Twenty years ago, Claire Maloney was the willful, pampered, tomboyish daughter of the town's most respected family, but that didn't stop her from befriending Roan Sullivan, a fierce, motherless boy who lived in a rusted-out trailer amid junked cars. No one in Dunderry, Georgia - least of all Claire's family - could understand the bond between these two mavericks. But Roan and Claire belonged together...until the dark afternoon when violence and terror overtook them, and Roan disappeared from Claire's life.

Fantabulous!!!
Revisado: 10-08-22
I absolutely adored listening to this story, moreso because it is performed brilliantly, in a way that emphasizes Deborah Smith’s intent beyond the words she wrote.

Historia
Robert Mace has had enough. After watching some of his closest friends find love and happiness with mail-order brides, the fact that his own advertisement is yet to receive a single reply is frustrating, to say the least. But then he finds another advertisement, this time from a woman seeking a husband.

Not recommended
Revisado: 07-15-22
Predictable and simplistic in story and writing style, I do not recommend this book. The audio performance lacks emotion. Pass this title up. Audible has so many better stories from which to choose.

Historia
Nina Granville believes her business trip to Alaska will give her a short respite from the merry-go-round that came with her engagement to Congressman Terrence Donnelly. Would make a good film
Revisado: 03-12-19
Some stories are spellbinding to listen to, some make good reads, others make good movies. I’d imagine that this would be a breathtaking film. I wish I had read it rather than listened to it, however. I liked the narrator for the female voice, but not for the male. And there are a lot of male voices.
