Historia
The first thing Sophia Amoruso sold online wasn’t fashion - it was a stolen book. She spent her teens hitchhiking, committing petty theft, and dumpster diving. By twenty-two, she had resigned herself to employment, but was still broke, directionless, and working a mediocre day job she’d taken for the health insurance. It was there that Sophia decided to start selling vintage clothes on eBay. Eight years later, she is the founder, CEO, and creative director of Nasty Gal, a $100 million plus online fashion retailer with more than 350 employees.

Great for 20 somethings

What did you like best about #GIRLBOSS? What did you like least?
Sophia's story is quite incredible and her resounding belief in doing one's best in work is a positive message. However, the narrator sounds like a valley girl and most of the advice is geared to those just starting out in the work force. However, in light of the customer clientele of Nasty Gal, this should be expected.
What did you like best about this story?
Who doesn't love a good rags to riches through hard work story?! Very inspiring for women entrepreneurs.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Wasn't a big fan of this narrator- she sounds like a valley girl. Made it difficult to absorb the wisdom of Sophia's story.
Did #GIRLBOSS inspire you to do anything?
Yes! Reminded me to always be impeccable in my work. It does not go unnoticed.

Historia
Art today is defined by its relationship to money as never before. Prices of living artists' works have been driven to unprecedented heights, conventional boundaries within the art world have collapsed, and artists now think ever more strategically about how to advance their careers. Artists no longer simply make art, but package, sell, and brand it. Noah Horowitz exposes the inner workings of the contemporary art market, explaining how this unique economy came to be, how it works, and where it's headed.

It's like listening to a robot
Revisado: 08-01-14
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
The worst audible experience so far. Trying to get through this one but the narration is so poor that it's like listening to a robot. Can't even pay attention to him for more than 10 seconds.
Would you recommend The Art of the Deal to your friends? Why or why not?
No - get the book if you are interested.
Would you be willing to try another one of Ken Kliban’s performances?
NEVER!!!!!!!!
Was The Art of the Deal worth the listening time?
Not so far.
