Historia
After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal. Well, as "normal" as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life. Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for - his girlfriend, Kenzie. Never mind that he's forbidden to see her again. But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, "normal" simply isn't to be.

Historia
Rob Delaney is a comedy superstar. But if you’re ever watched him steal scenes as Peter in Deadpool 2, binged his streaming series Catastrophe, encountered his raunchy and mischievous Twitter presence, or witnessed the hilarious and painful sharing he does in his stand-up, you already know that. In his first book, he traces his journey from middle-class theater geek to public menace to devoted family man and passionately engaged model citizen.

save your money / credits
Revisado: 11-11-14
This wasn't funny or interesting, and listening to this guy narrate the book is about as fascinating as watching paint dry. I kept waiting for something interesting to happen, but all that occurred was 5 hours of him detailing and complaining about his pot use and alcohol abuse. I want my time and my credit back.

OMG this is one of the most BORING books
Revisado: 05-19-14
This is one of the most boring books I've had the displeasure to endure. The narrator is boring, and the writing has gotten so old over the last 3 books. I can't bear to finish it because it's blah blah blah blah blah - which boy do I choose? Oh no! It's even more boring than The Twilight Saga! If I could, I'd ask for a refund for all three. I want those hours of my life back.

Historia
Dan Savage’s mother wants him to get married. His boyfriend, Terry, says “no thanks” because he doesn’t want to act like a straight person. Their six-year-old son, D.J., says his two dads aren’t “allowed” to get married but that he’d like to come to the reception and eat cake. Throw into the mix Dan’s straight siblings, whose varied choices form a microcosm of how Americans are approaching marriage these days, and you get a rollicking family memoir that will have everyone - gay or straight, right or left, single or married - howling with laughter.

Like the book, hate the narrator
Revisado: 02-06-14
I liked the book. It was very interesting and fascinating information and back story (what happened to the toy poodle's other eye?). However, after reading his columns for years and listening to hundreds of his podcasts, the performance was lacking. It didn't go with the subject matter at hand. The narrator was far too formal for Dan's writing.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Absolutely! And I have! Some of the names are a little silly, but since when do super heroes have normal monikers? I ADORE this book - I have listened to it several times, and I laugh out loud every time.
What does Michael Urie bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The voices and timing are spot on - love it!

Would you listen to Paranormalcy again? Why?
Yep, I am right now because the writing and narration are funny and awesome! I've laughed out loud at parts!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Paranormalcy?
Tasie the hot pink taser gun she had. Evie is in love with pink and named her weapon. Awesome!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The relationship between Evie and Raquel. I was not happy with what happened to one of the characters. I really missed that one... and it really affected Evie. Bleep.
Any additional comments?

Historia
Zara White suspects there's a freaky guy semi-stalking her. She's also obsessed with phobias. And it's true, she hasn't exactly been herself since her stepfather died. But exiling her to shivery Maine to live with her grandmother? That seems a bit extreme. The move is supposed to help her stay sane . . . but Zara's pretty sure her mom just can't deal with her right now.

OK
Revisado: 08-24-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
It was an easy, predictable read. I don't know that other friends of mine would enjoy this, but it was okay.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
meh
How could the performance have been better?
Different narrator - this narrator was flat and I found it difficult to connect with the way she presented the characters.

Crappy
Revisado: 08-24-12
What would have made Captivate better?
This book sucks. It is really difficult to get through, and the narrator is NOT helping! Perhaps with better narration, this book would be passable, but I honestly regret wasting my credit on this and the third book.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Julia Whelan?
Emily Eiden; Therese Plummer
